He did not retreat from the limelight by choice, that narrative simply does not withstand scrutiny. Prior to 2011, what Dimeji Bankole largely enjoyed was the inherited local goodwill of his father, Alani Bankole, particularly within Abeokuta. Having lived there for over two decades, I can state quite plainly that he did little to independently consolidate or project enduring political authority.
The turning point came in 2011, losing his re-election bid to the House of Representatives while serving as Speaker coincided with the ascendancy of the ACN in the state. The subsequent consolidation of power by the APC in 2015 further weakened the PDP, leaving him with little to no viable pathway. His 2019 gubernatorial bid under the ADP yielded fewer than 10,000 votes, an outcome that speaks volumes.
He later defected to the APC and made a nominal attempt at the presidential ticket in 2022, only to step down for Bola Tinubu on the day of the primaries. The idea that his current silence is voluntary is, therefore, misleading, it is far more accurately explained by a significant erosion of political relevance and public appeal.

one popular politician that stepped out of the limelight and still shocked me till date was Dimeji Bankole, former speaker House of Representatives. i don’t really know much about why he decided to step out of politics, so I won’t really say much as regards his personal profile as at then, he wasn’t just full of dreams. He was a vision for the youth, was the speaker at around 37 years old. He made ‘the not too young to rule’ a possibility and then, after one or two fallouts in PDP. He excused himself out of the political scenes. he should have been somewhere close to becoming Ogun state governor now but then, he knows better.

This is the scene at Daneji, near the SAHAD Store in Mandawari. The people you are seeing are young men from different places. The former Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, has secured permanent (or steady) jobs for them in agencies such as NSCDC, Immigration, Customs, and others.
Here, there are no office workers. They have their own separate group. Many of these young men have neither a mother nor a father — they are just indigenes of Kano State from various local government areas.
May Allah SWT reward him with goodness. Those who are capable should emulate this man.

From all indications, it looks like Chelsea are not looking for old, experienced players in the summer, but rather experienced, Premier League-ready players by appearances.
I don't think Ake and Rudiger fit that criteria. That's for the likes of van Hecke, Senesi, Ndiaye, and Rogers.
There is the possibility that most of our summer signings will come from the Premier League.

If Jesus Christ truly rose from the dead and remained for 40 days, the most decisive way to confirm this would have been to appear to the very authorities who condemned him….namely Pontius Pilate and Caiaphas. These were the individuals with both the motive to verify the claim and the power to publicly document and disseminate it.
Instead, the resurrection appearances were very suspiciously reported exclusively among his own followers…people already predisposed to believe in him. This is a serious evidential asymmetry…
the claim rests on insider testimony, while those in the best position to critically verify or falsify it are absent from the record.
If the goal of the resurrection was to provide clear, public confirmation of his divine status, then failing to appear to neutral or hostile authorities is very dubious and suspicious.
Think about it, A verified appearance before Roman and Jewish leadership would have produced independent records and dramatically altered the history of the day.
The absence of such accounts makes the resurrection narrative look less like a publicly confirmable event and more like a belief dubiously sustained within a committed group… any rational mind is justified in disbelieving the story.

It's funny how at their best, Chelsea never got close to the UCL trophy.
In 2010 season, Chelsea was one of the best team in Europe. Almost zero weaknesses.
They did double over Man U, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool while scoring over 100 goals.
But guess what? They were knocked out of the UCL at R16 by Inter Milan.
Again in 2015, Chelsea was one of the best teams in Europe with almost no weakness.
They did double over Arsenal, Liverpool, and got 4 points from Man U and played out draws against Man City.
But yet again, they were knocked out of the UCL in the R16 by 10-man PSG with David Luiz and Thiago Silva on the scoresheet for PSG.
Twice we won the UCL, we struggled in the league. First one, they finished 6th position and the 2nd time they finished in 4th position on the last day.
Twice they won the UCL, a coach was sacked mid-season and each time, out of favor players ended up being the heroes.

I will say this again: our fanbase is the main reason why developing youngsters is difficult at Chelsea. We are the most toxic in the EPL. We don't believe in giving anyone time, even if he's 17 years old. Once a player makes a mistake, the reaction prevents the manager from giving him another chance. Pep didn't stop Khusanov when he was struggling. At Chelsea, we won't let him. That's why Acheampong is where he is today. The talent is there, but we as fans won't close our eyes to his mistakes and we let him get a good run of games. So, it's not about the coach and experienced players; they help, but regular game time is the biggest catalyst. You can argue all you want but until we understand the meaning of developing players, it will remain the same story.
