Okay, I'm deeply confused by this. This figure from "On The Recent Foraminifera of Great Britain" by William Crawford Williamson (1858) is labelled as Polystomella umbilicatula (=Nonion umbilicatulum)... but it CLEARLY isn't... but I don't know what elphidiid this actually is.

We are devastated to say that our beautiful Isabelle died in the early hours of this morning. We are absolutely broken. However, we want you all not to think of her death, but to honour her by living life as she did: fearlessly, joyously & spontaneously.

Very concerned to hear that Walleys Quarry is on fire tonight - have been in touch with the Police and Fire Commissioner and asked for a briefing first thing. The health and safety of residents is the top priority and that’s why we need the damn site closed. And fast.

An exciting week for two of my @KeeleGGE PG students! Ellie headed to Exeter, Penryn, to train with Torsa from the @ConvexSeascape group, and Ally spent time analysing cores @BOSCORF_NOC with Miros, Cian & Rebecca. Many thanks to all for their generosity & time! #paleo

Still struggling to identify these little beasties. Does anyone on the wonderful world of #pollen #palynomorphs #NPPs recognise these from microfossil slides? They look like #testateamoebae but I'm not too sure 🤔🤔🤔
Tom Hill@TomCBHill

Howdy Twitter #NPP friends! any idea what this little critter is? struggling to key out as an NPP, I thought perhaps a testate amoebae, but ever so transparent. In abundance in a sample of peat immediately overlain by alluvium (pre-flooding signal?)..... Any ideas?!?!!

Now that it has finally started to sink in, I’m thrilled to say that I have passed my Masters with distinction! Surrounded by volcanoes at a volcanology conference has to be one of the best places to receive results! 🌋 #COV12 #CitiesOnVolcanoes12

I’m excited to say that I will be spending 2023 working on an AMAZING project for my masters!! ‘A physicochemical analysis of volcanic ash from Sinabung volcano, Indonesia for respiratory health hazard assessment’ 🤩 Huge thanks to @claire_horwell for this fantastic opportunity!!
