Chalo, I can finally travel to West Bengal to visit the weavers there. I have visited weaving clusters all over Bharat, but a few years ago when I had visited West Bengal’s weaving clusters in Phulia, Dhoniakhali, Shantipur, with @MamataOfficial as the CM, I was shocked to see the abject poverty. It was like old photographs of the great Indian famine come to life! Thin, almost skeletal, malnourished people, threadbare huts that doubled up as houses and workshops, open sewers, no pucca roads, frequent power outages and a hopelessness in people’s eyes! Time for a change.

To follow up with KYC banking horror stories that working Indians face let me add my own for @ICICIBank and @ICICIBank_Care. For 3 weeks I have been trying to update my KYC for a mutual fund. One week relationship manager was on leave. Next week she said will meet me at bank but then passed on to someone else who also was not there but said go to Avantika at desk which i did and submitted photo and documents. April 23 this was done physically. May 1 KYC still not updated online and 3 days ago sent a reminder. and naturally all the entire lot of relationship managers must now begin a 3 day holiday after which who knows they may be too just too busy to handle clients. This is a high tech bank in national capital and i am an educated journalist who can write this on social media. Imagine what happens to adivasis and the labour and women who cannot read at all. I think we should develop a code of penalties for bank harassments.

Arvind Kejriwal’s logic is a dangerous precedent: if I don’t like the judge, I don’t play the game. No litigant gets to hand-pick their Bench or walk away just because their unproven claims of bias are rejected. To allow this turns the courtroom into a stage and accountability into an option. The judiciary must draw a hard line. This isn't about one politician - it's about ensuring the legal system isn't treated as a forum of convenience or a target for public browbeating.
