New paper from @opyn_ x @paradigm with @andrewjleone and @danrobinson arguing that *everything* is a power perpetual. research.opyn.co/everything-is-… What do we mean by "everything"? - Stablecoins (@MakerDAO ) – power 0 perpetual - Margined perpetuals (@dYdX ) – power 1 - Spot lending (@aave) – power 1 - Constant product AMMs (@Uniswap ) – power 0.5 - Geometric mean AMMs (@Balancer ) – powers between 0 and 1 - Options (@ryskfinance, @lyrafinance) – combination long power 1 and power 2 - Variance swaps (@volmexfinance) – combination of long power 2 and short power 1 This means that pretty much the whole of defi is a power perpetual, or at least power perpetual-adjacent. How how do we justify the "Everything" claim? ▼▼▼

I just tell Claude my desired conclusions and it makes me a mathematical model that supports those conclusions, and calibrates that model to whatever. Claude has fully replaced Acemoglu's job

Something came to my mind recently during a casual chat: "Build for humans, not users." It's weird to say this, but I think I just really hate the word "users" now. User experience here, user test there. I think this word somehow makes people in tech have this mindset that "users" are something vague that represents company growth, KPI, revenue. And what's even worse is that we're making them "the targets". Big tech companies treat users like shit, grab their attention and sell them ads. Crypto is just worse in general, most "products" are just throwing in extra incentives and encouraging people to gamble. I'm not here to get "users" for my product, I just genuinely believe what I build is good for a human being who respects their own financial freedom. I know quite some "monarch users" that reached out and asked for new features. I just consider them friends who appreciate my work, and I tend to value their opinion more than anyone. What I can promise is I will keep building, cuz I like creating software that has some cool meanings and spirits behind it. DeFi is the biggest movement I could see coming, privacy might be the second wave. I just want more humans to learn them, not users.

If everything is fine, then don’t change anything at all. But when the financial system isn’t working for so many people in the UK, it needs to be updated.
