@hstreetokstreet @DCAttorneyGen They were literally taken to court for stealing wages from their employees years ago and settled? They were in DC Superior Court yesterday for failing to pay their employees the money they agreed to pay them for their labor. Hope this helps!

It should not be controversial to say that workers in DC deserve:
↪️ protection from wage theft
↪️ overtime pay for overtime work
↪️ minimum wage protections
↪️ paid sick leave
↪️ paid family leave
↪️ pay transparency
↪️ no noncompete clauses
↪️ safety and dignity at work
As OAG, we will keep fighting to make these rights a reality for all workers in DC by enforcing them.
That is our promise to you this Labor Day.

There's been lots of protests of Trump's federal surge in D.C., but here's a new one (that will make you healthy): Runners are going to meet up at 14th and U on Sept. 1 for a 4.5-mile Freedom Run against "Trump's fascist takeover." (Missed opportunity for a 5.1-mile option.)

Trump is spending over $1 MILLION per day to have the National Guard harass homeless people. In contrast, providing housing to every homeless person in DC would cost ~ $255k.

It is dangerous for the National Guard to be deployed in residential areas — for people here, for Guard members themselves, and for the communities back home which they are supposed to serve.
Armored tactical vehicles should not be on city streets.

Per D.C. National Guard, one of the vehicles in this accident was an M-ATV, an armored tactical vehicle with a V-shaped hull designed to deflect roadside bombs. They have commonly been used in war zones for years, and weigh about 14 tons each.
