I thought of this mainly because the NFC north is absurdly strong this year, while Michigan and Wisconsin surprisingly both went to Trump in the election. I feel like no one expected MI and WI to go red, but I wonder if those two teams trending up finally had an impact.

In 2020, PA was split between a strong Steelers and a weak Eagles. The Packers and Panthers also broke the trend. In 2016, The Panthers and Cardinals were well under .500, while every other swing state team was close to or over .500, with all swing states going to Trump.

I had a theory that because sports are political, that there could be a correlation between how NFL teams are doing in swing states and how they vote in that election. Well, I put together the numbers from the last 3 elections, there definitely could be something here.
