Do you ever just say “hi” or “hey how are you?” to a black / brown cashier and they remain silent during the entire transaction? What’s up with that? Happened to me 3 times this morning

Hermes agent by @NousResearch is THE BEST. But it reads all of your API keys :( Hermes is genuinely my favorite agent harness. I have 4 Hermes agents that help me with many day-to-day tasks for work and personal. They have access to notion, github, gmail, X bookmarks, etc. The biggest downfall with Hermes IMO is that all of your keys, tokens, etc. still sit unencrypted in a .env file on disk. The LLM behind Hermes can (and does) read all of them. This makes it susceptible to prompt injection and credential exfiltration. An attacker can trick your agent into sending it your API keys (rather easily especially if you aren't on a frontier model). It doesn't have to be this way. In the video below I integrate Agent Vault by @infisical on a separate VPS in a private network, which acts as an HTTP broker. It encrypts your keys on a totally separate box and injects them into the headers / path. Your agent NEVER sees API keys, just dummy values, and still works like normal. I truly believe this is the future of agentic security. And it. Just. Works. FYI - this architecture works with any coding agent. Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, remote coding agents, custom agents. If it speaks HTTP, agent vault can integrate and potentially save you from catastrophe. Agent vault linked below!
Infisical@infisical

Your AI agent has your API keys. A poisoned document tells it to curl your secrets to an attacker's server. This is credential exfiltration, and it's the #1 risk in agentic AI right now. The fix is removing the secret from the agent entirely. Agent Vault sits between your agent and the APIs it calls. The agent gets dummy credentials, and Agent Vault swaps in the real ones at the network layer. The agent never sees your keys. We just dropped a full video + guide on connecting Hermes Agent to Agent Vault on a VPS!

At the height of US slavery, 78% of slave owners were jewish. Since only 1.6% of the total population owned slaves, and jews made up 3.125% of the population, this means that 40% of jews owned slaves, while only 0.35% of whites owned slaves.

Since subscribers can now use their existing Grok credentials directly within the Hermes xai shipped grok-via-oauth for hermes. your grok sub works inside the agent now. so i hooked icarus up to it. when hermes finds a thread worth saving, it lands in my obsidian vault as a note. handle. pages, topic pages, backlinks. graph view fills itself out. icarus plugin for hermes agents is why my agent doesn't forget. memory is just markdown in a folder. you can read it, grep it, edit it. Congrats to @Teknium and @NousResearch

Hermes Agent released v0.14, and it just made every other AI agent framework feel small. It now drives your computer. Searches X natively. Joins your Microsoft Teams calls. AND runs Grok with a 1M context window. (and for my crypto bro HyperLiquid) The AI agent era is crazy and beautiful.

anyone thinking about, learning, or already working with agentic systems, you should know this. the first few steps of your setup matter more than any model or framework you pick later. get them right and you never lose your flow. the foundation nobody posts about: > 1. tailscale. a private mesh network across every machine you own. laptop, desktop, rented node, all on one secure tailnet, reachable from anywhere. nothing else works well until this does. > 2. termius, over that tailnet. one SSH client that reaches every node, phone included. you are never away from your stack. > 3. tmux. persistent sessions. disconnect, close the laptop, come back, every session exactly where you left it. agentic work runs long, your terminal has to survive that. > 4. a private git repo. the one i am most glad i found. it is the memory layer across all my agents, they pull, they work, they merge back, the codebase stays alive between sessions. context that would die in a chat window lives in the repo instead. > 5. script everything from day one. ssh aliases for every node, setup scripts, the boring boilerplate automated. if you will do a thing more than twice, it is a script. everything past these five is decorative. know these cold. and the habit that ties it together: ask the AI itself. for the config, for the error, for any of it, let the agent do the lifting, then double check what it hands you. lock the five, build the habit, and you make it. skip it, anon, and you ngmi.

Most sad thing about Local LLMs: People are never satisfied. 6 months ago, when running Llama or GPT-OSS on giant servers wasn't even close to frontier models, everyone said they'd gladly use local LLMs even if they only hit last-gen performance. Now we got 27b models running locally on MacBooks matching Sonnet-4.6, and people still find a way to complain. The real smart ones just buy the hardware.

The #1 use case for every single person is a research agent. Grok is the #1 LLM for research since it pulls directly from X, which is the heartbeat for news in almost every niche. This week, make sure to integrate this into your Hermes to 10x your research. Ill share guides if there's interest.

R.I.P. Perplexity. R.I.P. Parallel R.I.P. Brave This search engine completely changed how I use AI search. It pulls from 80% of the internet that Google literally cannot see - legal cases, financial filings, code repos, threat intel, academic papers. One API key. Zero blind spots. It's called AnySearch and here's why every AI agent will run on it: 👇
