One of the worst haters of BJP is the children of BJP leaders themselves, especially those studying/studied at elite colleges. The hate is so visceral they don't even hide it, despite knowing it could harm their parents' political prospects. Saw a daughter of a BJP MP from Odisha celebrating Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation on her Insta story. That was alright, but next, her MP mother texted her on WhatsApp asking her to delete the story, saying Dharmendra Pradhan's PA was requesting it. Instead, she posted a screenshot of her mother's WhatsApp chat with the caption: "No PA to Dharmendra Pradhan, I'll not delete the story." This behavior cones from a desperate need for peer validation. When BJP kids enter elite, left-leaning college circles, their family name instantly makes them social outcasts. To fit in with the cool crowd and prove they aren't like their "backward" parents, they perform absurd overcompensations, becoming the loudest, most hysterical critics of their own family's politics just to secure a scrap of peer acceptance. Naturally, their politician parents quietly indulge this hypocrisy, viewing their children's posture as a necessary social tax.

At the cost of repetition, the grand success of BJP in 2014 was due to the common voters disgust with, corruption,coalition governments, inflation,perverse secularism,in action in case of repeated bomb blasts & communal riots, etc not due to some great political strategy of BJP.

While scrolling on reddit I came across several posts of students where they were talking about reservation and telling their stories. Man, reservation is the most vulgar amd ghoulish form of violation of human dignity. There is practically nothing you can use to counter justify it.

Now that the outrage is dying down, it’s a good time to post this. My elder daughter gave both NEET UG and NEET PG, her batch was directly affected by the 2024 paper leak. She and her colleague PG residents were bewildered at the lack of any concrete demand for educational reform and the overtly political nature of the agitation. It put them off. On the other hand, my younger one who is a budding lawyer was totally instabrainwashed and stuck up on the resignation demand. Her interpretation being that it was natural for opposition parties to use the platform for their politics, but the parties being there was the effect and not the cause. She genuinely believes that the lathi charge was unprovoked and that police overturned their own vehicles and kept stones in trucks. Videos proving the protesters did the vandalism and started the stone pelting make no difference to her views. This is the reality of the situation. When poorly informed, highly emotional and opinionated youth getting their info from social media influencers are in that zone, no amount of reasoning or fact can make them change their view. That doesn’t mean we think ill of their intentions. Them wanting to be a part of a rare moment like this when the “youth demonstrates their power to those in power”, trying to change a system that is inefficient and corrupt, is almost an inevitable part of coming of age. Our generation was misled by Kejriwal et al. We too agitated on the streets during IAC, thinking him to be an agent of change. He only changed it for the worse. Their participation in such protests augurs well for democracy even if the organisers are a bunch of leftist losers. Kids are smart enough to see through them too. It is important to keep them engaged so that over time, the reality finally dawns on them. In a diverse country like Bharat, only serial incremental changes work. Democracy is an inefficient tool that slows down progress to accommodate different views as much as possible. Radical ideas perish rapidly, and these kids too will become wiser over time.

But this doesn’t answer the @Wrathofuchiha question. In the US, political stabilising base was achieved differently. Republicans polled well amongst college graduated whites too under Trump 2.0. You have to define the polarizing axis in a different direction. nytimes.com/2024/01/14/us/…

Because of merit are not allowed to openly criticize. They still do their best to cultivate critical thinking in us but they do so in hush voices. If we deliver some 'radical' presentations then the prof is like "don't spark controversy in my class my job is very precious to me."

A fresh Political Science grad from DU here. Half of the professors are admitted because of their BJP connections. They don't even know how to speak coherently in class lectures. Their incompetence and bias is very much apparent. Whereas the other half who became professors 1/2
