I am back on Mumbai-Pune expressway after last week's historic rains. (More than 1000+ mm in 48 hr at Lonawla). Road is fine. Connecting Link is functioning as designed. No damage whatsoever at all. Excellent job 👌👌 (I am still in awe of the original design and construction team of the expressway. 25 years on, it is in excellent condition and remains a benchmark)

@amz360 That has repeatedly been clarified. Insurers and car manufacturers can’t refuse any cover, plus do read this. When ARAI called a meeting of manufacturers and dealers to discuss damage they’d seen due to E20, they said they hadn’t seen any!!

@amitsurg No, not negligible. Insurance companies and manufacturers do not cover any damage. All other countries ensures vehicles are fully compliant before they introduced any changes.

Ethanol blend is reducing mileage by 20 to 30%, so more imported crude will be needed. This in addition to ethanol which is also largely imported.

Post-2016 cars are designed for E10 and chances of damage due to E20 are negligible, some higher wear is seen in rubber tubings etc but not in engine. Even older MPFI engines are not harmed by ethanol blends. Ethanol in fact cleans out the fuel jets and improves engine performance. Some manufacturers like Honda have been E20 compatible from 2009 onwards. Mileage drop is seen in only pre 2023 cars. Overall the problem is greatly overrated, fuel drop is not more than 5-6%. Cannot be. My 2022 Urban Cruiser has not seen any drop in mileage at all, in fact.

@amitsurg Many people have reported actual reduction in mileage. In practice it is very much possible. Also most cars are not designed for E20 fuel and it will damage the engine seals and other components

Problem with this is, mahua is more expensive than broken rice and corn. And availability is nowhere on the scale of either of them.

What does ticket checking have to do with language? A TC hardly has time for long conversations. Their job is to check tickets across the entire compartment before the next station arrives. The only time they need to interact with passengers is when someone doesn’t have a valid ticket. Playing the language card just because you’re caught without a ticket is completely wrong. #POCSO accused allegedly #murders six in #RangaReddy after getting bail A 28-year-old man allegedly murdered six people in #Shabad, Ranga Reddy, after securing bail in a POCSO case registered against him. Police said Raju Kumar allegedly killed the minor girl who had accused him, her mother, grandmother, his wife Saritha, and his two children (aged 3 & 2) in an apparent revenge attack. The accused allegedly informed his parents after the killings, following which they alerted police. @CPFutureCity Tarun Joshi and DCP Yogesh Gautam visited the scene. My brother has been diagnosed with MDR-TB, and we are struggling to access the medicines he urgently needs. He was referred from Fortis Hospital to NITRD, Mehrauli, and we were also advised by AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital to obtain the MDR-TB medicines from NITRD, Mehrauli. From Safdarjung Hospital, we were again referred to NITRD, Mehrauli. Unfortunately, when we reached NITRD, it was Friday, and the concerned doctor is available only from Monday to Thursday, so we could not complete the process. As his condition required admission, only BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital accepted him for treatment. We are sincerely grateful to the doctors and staff at BLK-Max for admitting him and taking care of him. Today, the treating doctor informed us that the required MDR-TB medicines are not available at the hospital. They have written an official request to NITRD, Mehrauli, seeking the medicines. However, we are extremely worried because we do not know how long the response or approval process will take, while every day of delay in starting the appropriate treatment is critical. I respectfully request the concerned authorities to kindly intervene and help ensure that the required MDR-TB medicine are made available at the earliest. Neither is Gadkari, it’s not his ministry that decided on ethanol blending. The policy was started by UPA and it is a correct policy. Just because sugar factory owners are benefiting from it, doesn’t mean it’s a conflict of interest.
