UPDATE ON THE MURDER OF ABDULSAMAD JAMIU -29 April 2026 Following the visit of a military delegation to the family, a military police investigative unit has since been deployed to the scene. The investigators conducted formal interrogations of all key witnesses, including the sister of the deceased, the parents, neighbours, and members of the community vigilante group. It was during these interrogations that a deeply disturbing detail emerged. The vigilante members revealed that after they had been directed to mop up Abdulsamad’s blood, they were further instructed by the soldiers to bury the remnants of his shattered skull and brain matter in the backyard of the family’s home. The vigilantes led the investigative team to the exact location in the backyard where these remains were buried. We wish to be clear about what this means: the remains of our son’s head were buried in the ground of his own home like refuse, without the knowledge or consent of his family. The investigative team has given the family their assurance that the investigation will be thorough and that it will continue until answers and justice are delivered. The family acknowledges this commitment and will be watching its fulfilment closely. The family of Abdulsamad Jamiu wishes to use this moment to express profound and heartfelt gratitude to every Nigerian who has taken up this cause and refused to let it be buried alongside our son. To the media houses who gave our grief a voice and our truth a platform — thank you. To community and political leaders who have stood with us and spoken up — thank you. To the friends of Abdulsamad, who have kept his name alive and reminded the world that he was loved — thank you. And to every individual who shared, commented, prayed, and demanded accountability on our behalf — you have not done so in vain. The family remains resolute. The investigation is ongoing. Justice for Abdulsamad is non-negotiable. — The Family of Abdulsamad Jamiu #JusticeForAbdulsamad #JusticeForSamad

UPDATE ON THE MURDER OF ABDULSAMAD JAMIU This morning, 27 April 2026, representatives from HQ Nigerian Army, led by Brigadier S. O. Buhari, visited the family to offer condolences and to inspect the scene of the incident. During the visit, they stated that they were unaware the house was fenced and that the room where the shooting occurred was located downstairs. This contradicts their earlier claim suggesting the death resulted from a “stray bullet.” The delegation expressed condolences and assured the family that the officers involved would be investigated and held accountable. The family has formally demanded the retraction of the initial statement and a public apology for what they consider an insult to the memory of their son. Although there was a promise to delete the statement, the family made it clear that trust has already been undermined, especially given that some military personnel had visited the scene the yesterday before issuing the statement in question. We reiterate our demand that those responsible for the killing of Abdulsalam Jamiu be brought to justice. This was not an accident. He was in his home; military men entered the premises, approached his room, and shot him through the door. Twice. This was not a mistake.

The Nigerian army came to drop a false statement claiming it was a cross fire, Now this is a voice note directly from the sister who witnessed EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED!! She WITNESSED HER BROTHER’s DEATH!! PLEASE I URGE YOU LISTEN TO IT !!! How the 3 soldier men dragged her forcefully out of the house, the 3 soldier men also called the local vigilantes to come clean up the room, After they were done the called their colleagues about 10 of them to come to the crime scene and take photos there so they could easily debunk the whole thing when it goes out @HQNigerianArmy you didn’t need to lie, there was no intense exchange!!!!! You people killed abdulsamad in his room , in his parents house, 2am on Saturday, the first gunshot that was heard in the neighborhood was the one that happened in their house There is still a bullet stuck in his room wall and close to the spot you can still see pieces of his BRAINS!!! @officialnyscng a Nigerian corps member was MURDERED by the army and you are still MUTE about IT !! FORMAL REBUTTAL STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE FAMILY OF ABDULSAMAD JAMIU (DECEASED) In Response to the HQ Nigerian Army Official Account of Events of 25th April 2026 Incident Location: Dei-Dei Shagari Quarters, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory Victim: Abdulsamad Jamiu, Male, 24 Years of Age Date of Statement: 26th April 2026 PRELIMINARY NOTE This statement is issued on behalf of the immediate family of the late Abdulsamad Jamiu, who was killed in the early hours of Saturday, 25th April 2026, at his residence in Dei-Dei Shagari Quarters, Abuja. It is issued in direct and formal response to the account of events published by the Nigerian Military, which the family, supported by physical evidence, witness testimony, and the military’s own partial admissions, categorically rejects as false, misleading, and an affront to the memory of an innocent young man. The family is not issuing this statement in anger alone. They are issuing it in the interest of truth, accountability, and the rule of law — values which the Nigerian Military, as an institution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is constitutionally obligated to uphold. SECTION I: ESTABLISHED FACTS The following facts are not in dispute and form the foundation of this rebuttal: 1. At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, 25th April 2026, personnel of the Nigerian Military entered the residential premises of the Jamiu family at Dei-Dei Shagari Quarters, Abuja. 2. At the time of the incident, Abdulsamad Jamiu, aged 24 years, was present inside his room within the family residence. His sister was also present in the house. Their parents were absent, having travelled to Okene to attend a burial ceremony. 3. Nigerian Military personnel discharged a firearm at close range through the door of Abdulsamad’s room. The shot struck Abdulsamad Jamiu in the head, killing him instantly. 4. The trajectory of the bullet — confirmed by physical examination of the bullet hole, which runs from the room door to the wall of the room — conclusively establishes that the shot was fired from outside the room, through the closed door, into the room where Abdulsamad Jamiu was situated. 5. On hearing the gunshot, Abdulsamad’s sister rushed downstairs, whereupon she was instructed by the soldiers present to go outside and “calm down.” 6. Neighbours who heard the gunshot contacted the community vigilante group. Upon their arrival, vigilante members were instructed by the military personnel to mop up the blood and flush it — a directive which, in itself, raises grave questions about the military’s intent to preserve an evidence-intact crime scene. 7. The body of Abdulsamad Jamiu was subsequently conveyed to Kubwa General Hospital by the police, who had arrived at the scene. The family was compelled to endure hours of statements and administrative paperwork before being granted access to retrieve their son’s remains for burial. 8. The military personnel present at the scene, when confronted by the family regarding the killing of their son, acknowledged that the shooting of Abdulsamad Jamiu was a mistake and that they had killed an innocent person. This acknowledgement was made in the presence of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and was recorded in a written statement. SECTION II: THE MILITARY’S ACCOUNT AND ITS SPECIFIC CONTRADICTIONS The Nigerian Military has publicly claimed that its personnel were engaged in active pursuit of armed robbers and that the fatal shooting of Abdulsamad Jamiu occurred in the course of an exchange of gunfire. The family rejects this account in its entirety and presents the following point-by-point rebuttal, each supported by verifiable evidence or the absence of evidence where the military bears the burden of proof: Ground 1: The Physical Evidence Disproves an “Exchange of Gunfire” The military’s claim of an exchange of gunfire is irreconcilable with the physical evidence present at the scene.

On the early hours of Saturday 26 of April 2026 by 2am, my best friend A young graduate who just finished school last year and currently serving his country and was meant to pass out just next month was KILLED BY THE NIGERIAN ARMY. @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG_CRU @sowore @PeterObi @officialnyscng @vdmempire @BenHundeyin While at home with his siblings (his parents were away), 3 armed military men forced their way into their house around 2am claiming they were chasing a thief. They encountered him and he locked his door like anyone would do to protect themselves and his siblings because he was the eldest and he has a duty to protect his siblings. they shot through the door multiple times, A bullet hit his head and another hit his stomach. They killed him in his own home. It didn’t end there. They prevented his sister from going to him. They tried to stop her from calling for help and when help finally came, his body was taken away. The soldiers called the local vigilante to come and clean the scene. The scene was cleaned and the house was locked down. No clear answers were given. This happened in Dakwa Abuja, it’s not longer rumors that we aren’t safe, not even in our homes. This was someone’s son. Someone’s brother. Someone’s friend. He was kind. He was good. He had a future. This cannot be swept under the rug. We are demanding accountability. We are demanding answers. We are demanding justice. Please repost. Please speak up. Don’t let this be ignored. Please help me tag the necessary authorities under this post @HQNigerianArmy @PoliceNG @vdmempire #JusticeForAbdulsamad #WhoKilledAbdulsamad #StopKillingNigerians
