@RobertJBye @karrisaarinen As a designer, I’ve never felt this close to the product before… 3-4 years ago my work started and ended in Figma. I didn’t touch code, and the business side was mostly handled by PMs. Now I’m basically involved in all 3 :)

@karrisaarinen IMO designers who can leverage AI, and have good business sense, will become some of the most influential people in tech.

The obvious path for designers in the AI age is to move closer to code. But the more valuable path may be upstream: closer to the customer, the business, and the problem. If everyone can prompt agents to code, the scarce skill becomes knowing why, what, and how to build.

Founding Design Engineer is what I’m becoming day by day. My usual week right now looks like this: -Designing -Working with code -Building prototypes with AI -Shaping product UX -Doing all of it closely with founders. I recently finished what started as a simple Framer landing page. Now I’m helping the founder scale, redesign, and rethink the product. Crazy times.
