If JD Vance will be asking for Armenian Americans votes come 2028, he will need honest answers to some very hard questions: Here are a few for starters: 1) Why did you delete your X post about visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan this February? Who spoke to you after your initial post? Were they from the US or abroad (or both)? What did they have to say? 2) Why did you visit Armenia and not meet with jailed Armenian Apostolic clergy, or the families of Armenian hostages held in Azerbaijan? 3) Why did you travel to Azerbaijan and not condemn its ethnic cleansing of Artsakh, visit illegally detained Armenian hostages, protest Azerbaijan's occupation of Armenian territory, or call out Azerbaijan's desecration and destruction of Christian holy sites?

Armenian orphans being forced to hold the image of Enver Pasha, the man who massacred their parents, is an act of insanity and psychopathy. Except in Turkey, where it is called heroism and patriotism. Many Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian children were taken, Islamized, and assimilated after the genocide of 1915. Today, thousands of their descendants are finding their way back to the roots and faith of their ancestors. #ArmenianGenocide

On Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, we remember the 1.5 million Armenians killed 111 years ago in a horrific genocide.   I was proud to be Speaker when Congress formally recognized the Armenian Genocide. And it was my honor to lead a Congressional delegation to visit the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide Memorial and pay respects to the men, women and children who were murdered.   By affirming the history of this tragedy, we work to make sure such horror can never again happen.

24 April marks Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. The Armenian Genocide was the systematic persecution and mass killing of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire during World War I. Around 1.5 million Armenians were killed. It included the destruction of Armenian communities through forced marches, starvation, and violence, and has been followed by continued denial by the Turkish government and its allies, especially Azerbaijan. #GenocideAwarenessMonth

Today's Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day commemorates not only the first genocide of the 20th century, but also the first modern government-sponsored one, and that inspired the Nazi horrors. "Never Again" must not ring hollow.

N'oublions jamais.

Today marks the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. As we honor the 1.5 million Armenians murdered by the Ottoman Empire across modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Armenia, we must refuse to let history repeat itself. In 2020, the military forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey attacked the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh. In 2023, Azerbaijan expelled over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, continuing the genocidal campaign that had begun over 100 years prior. On this day of remembrance, we reaffirm the right of the Armenian people — and all people — to freedom, safety, and self-determination.

"Two April 24ths into office, @VP @JDVance - having deleted his own X post about visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial this February - now owns (and is actively enforcing) this Administration's gag-rule against honest American remembrance of Turkey's WWI-era mass-murder and exile of millions of Armenians and other Christian martyrs." - Aram Hamparian, ANCA FYI: The Armenian Genocide has been officially recognized by the White House (2021), Congress (2019), all 50 US states, and more than a dozen NATO allies.

Trump fell asleep again during a live televised meeting. If Joe Biden had done that, the media would have treated it like a national emergency and run wall-to-wall panic coverage for a week. But when Trump does it, they look the other way because the clown show keeps their ratings up and their pockets full. The hypocrisy is disgraceful. The media failed the country, and they know it.

On this day in 1915, the genocide of over one million Armenians in the former Ottoman Empire began with the murder of Armenian intellectuals and community leaders. This Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, I once again stand in solidarity with Armenian communities around the world and call upon our leaders to call this crime by its proper name.

The Armenian genocide led to the destruction of more than two millennia of Armenian civilization. Alongside the mass killings and expulsion of Syriac Aramean Christians and Greek Orthodox Christians, it contributed to the creation of an ethnonational Turkish state. The Turkish government maintains that the deportation of Armenians was a legitimate action that cannot be described as genocide. As of 2022, 31 countries have recognized these events as genocide, as does the vast majority of historians #aramean #armenian #hay #suryoyo #arameangenocide #seyfo
