@8394Canucks I’d argue wasting the opportunity to win with Bure was worse. To add to that, the return for Bure was dismal in comparison to Hughes package. Fast forward 3 years from now, and you’ll be over Hughes departure. Bure still a franchise legend.

@DUNKACHENO Vancouver isn’t sending Hronek to NYI unless the it’s 13th and a top prospect. Aitcheson and the 13th brings Van to the table. They won’t trade a top pairing RHD in his prime,making under 8 mill per for 5 more seasons, for a deal where the 13th is the core piece.

MOCK TRADE TOR gets a good puck-mover in Byram who had a good playoff run. Helps fill out the top end of the D-Core. BUF, already with a surplus of LHD, get a righty who can supplement their youth/skill with size and experience. They get two valuable trade chips as well.

If they sign Byram, Tuch is gone. That’s been my mindset, zero clue if that’s the right mentality, but that’s what I’m going with for now. Byram is hot and cold, but he does seem to be a non-lettered leader of the Sabres.

Age 34) Gets Schaefer a RH partner long term - and if Islanders don’t trade Pelech they could potentially just stack their Defense next season to help Sorokin & take some pressure off Schaefer who shouldn’t be playing 28 minutes every night. With Vancouver rebuilding, I can see them also eating one of the Isles’ bad contracts - whether it’s Mayfield/Duclair/Engvall Considering Hronek got traded for a 17th overall pick & a 2nd in 2023 - I would imagine a return centered around the 13th overall pick this year could get it done. @Adamkblat Most, if not every one of those players will waive for right situation. If you are over 28, you don’t want your career to end in rebuild mode. The NMC’s are requested so they don’t end up in a dumpster town like Edmonton or Winnipeg.
