Block the straight of Hormuz for a week and the world goes mad but block the Rafah crossing for years, preventing the entry of food and humanitarian aid into Gaza and nobody bats an eye. It’s not hard to see that this world values markets, profit and capitalism over human lives.

I desperately want us to get back to a place where liking or disliking a movie means really nothing more than you liked or disliked that movie. Every single movie being positioned as the next battle in a real-world political, social or cultural war is not healthy for anyone.

I’m not a fan of Starmer, but whatever he does – literally whatever he does - he is ripped apart, ripped to shreds, by the telegraph, Mail, express, Sun, spectator, the very same people who installed Boris Johnson and the appalling Liz Truss. @penwoodpeter I've been highly vocal in Israel's right to exist. I believe the Jews have been persecuted for centuries and I fully support their right in having a place to call home. Their own home. A safe home. I lived in Warsaw and Krakow for a number of years. My number one client had a chemical production plant located within Oswiecim. (with almost certain frightening ties to the past) I studied ghetto conditions and the uprising. I cried for the generations who were wiped out, entire families with possibly world changing futures ahead of them, gone, and for what? The twisted ideals of a madman and those who sat by idly and supported that regime. It's for THAT reason I'll simply never understand the Gaza situation. It's History repeating itself in the most brutal and tragic fashion.

Plastic patriot tax exiles who fled to Gulf states to avoid paying their fair share back home should be charged the full whack if repatriated by the UK Government.
