@zainbacchus I think design canvas has a terminal value of 0, and that’s what figma is still betting on re dylan’s post today. but if the value of figma is a wedge into people using claude then maybe. but this whole release admits people are using claude *before* figma

@ankithharathi Yeah, “3% in eqty…worth more than Figmas lt value” thats where I disagree. Go long convexity and take <3% of 380B to turn into sticky enterprise agreements faster

Bearish for figma Admitting most design does not and will not start in their UI layer anymore. Only a matter of time before it’s completely unnecessary

If you define distribution as just organizational breadth then what you’re saying makes sense, but that’s overly narrow distribution = breadth x intra-org depth x value probably some more factors too like switching cost etc i don’t see anthropic having a hard time going from 60 to 95% penetration quickly, and 3% in equity today probs worth more than figmas long term value

I think there’s >25 F500s w/o an enterprise plan with Anthropic, and agree that Figma alone will have a hard time getting anywhere near that level of rev expansion (hence their mkt performance) I’m arguing that trading <3% of Anthropic’s current value is worth it to expedite the time from Anthropic’s current 60% F500 penetration to 95%+

@zainbacchus Hmm do you think there are >25 F500 co’s without even a single paid anthropic seat? The per seat depth is more a tell of value than shallow penetration imo. Figma going to have a hard time getting anywhere near that level of rev expansion

@ankithharathi Nope. What you're observing is price per seat/token higher for Claude. Penetration in F500 is higher for Figma (95% per the S1)

@zainbacchus But much less than claude though? Figma at 1B ARR and claude code alone at 2.5B ARR, anthropic at 14B

@alexkehr do you just send it screenshots or have it simulate users going through the app?

i've been using opus 4.6 as a design thinking partner - experimenting with asking it things like to intensely examine our onboarding. page ordering. narrative arc. retention hooks. and k-factor opportunities. it has done a VERY good job finding granular improvements. easily 10x'd my design speed and quick decision making skills.

@ankithharathi Love this. Your take on status games shaping behavior is spot on. Could Austin’s status game shift? We have talent, top tech, and capital. If 10 pre-seed unicorns emerged by 2030, Austin could become a true unicorn factory with better quality of life.

interesting framework here re your city informs what status games you play (and thus how you spend your time) my ego doesnt agree with the framing of Austin (though in general its directionally right), but we can change that. id love to see more of the people who bend the world to their will pick Austin as their home
