Update. Cuff rotators all fine. I have inflammation of a tendon sheath, probably caused by over-extending. May need an injection but should get well

@Suchmo83 Turning Pages is an adults’ phonics programme used by Read Easy and Shannon Trust to teach adults and I have found it excellent for tutoring teenagers with reading difficulties or delay. Well worth looking at. Available from Shannon Trust.

I'm keen to learn about phonics programmes that are used in *secondary schools*, in particular how these programmes support teaching assistants or teachers to teach using the programme. If you have any relevant information or recommendations, let me know! RTs appreciated!

@pastortilley @uk_timwilson @PaulDistilled Also, a musician who listens to the congregation and plays sympathetically with them rather than dogmatically leading them - sometimes people are used to singing slower or faster than the musician.

@pastortilley @uk_timwilson @PaulDistilled Sometimes it helps to teach songs. Also singing songs with a clear chorus with an easy tune helps people feel part of the worship and is helpful for those with reading difficulties or English as a an additional language. Songs with bridges are tricky for those not in the know.

@Puzzledbyadream I think I am almost the opposite to neurodivergent and do not have mental health difficulties (although several family members who are neurodivergent and also family members with mental health issues).

@redcurrant101 I think, if possible, having choices so that the group work types can do some of that with a possibility of opting out and doing something quiet on your own works well. Easier for some subjects, I guess.

expecting 14yr old me to do any kind of group work would have (and did) result in flag refusal/my playing up to get myself removed… I was a straight A* student all the way through school. We don’t get mentioned much in educational discourse, but we do exist!

Yay for nights spent dancing for the first time since pre-Covid; but home to a feed containing a plethora of views on what makes a good lesson. Just for the record, whilst I’m happy to use all sorts of activities in my lesson… 1/2

@samhwilson Absolutely. If the church wants quality people who are going to do the job for some years or a whole career, they need to give the sort of pay that can support families and pay for somewhere decent to live
