Josh Turek, a Democratic Iowa state lawmaker and four-time Paralympic basketball player, said Tuesday he rejects the idea that Iowa is a “reach state” for Democrats in the midterms, and told CBS News’ @edokeefe the state is “absolutely in play” for Dems. “People look at us as a red state, but I say we're not a red state. We are common sense state that has masqueraded more red than what we are,” said Turek, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Iowa’s June 2 primary. Vice President JD Vance visited Iowa on Tuesday to campaign for Republicans, as the state has an unusual number of competitive races for open seats this year, including for governor and the U.S. Senate.

"We are in an era of maximum warfare everywhere and all the time," Leader Jeffries said when asked about future redistricting. "We're going to keep the pressure on Republicans in every single state in the union to ensure, at the end of the day, there is a fair national map."
