As CBS News’ @edokeefe reports, Alabama is the latest state moving to revise its congressional lines ahead of the November midterm elections.

Josh Turek, a Democratic Iowa state lawmaker and four-time Paralympic basketball player, said Tuesday he rejects the idea that Iowa is a “reach state” for Democrats in the midterms, and told CBS News’ @edokeefe the state is “absolutely in play” for Dems. “People look at us as a red state, but I say we're not a red state. We are common sense state that has masqueraded more red than what we are,” said Turek, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Iowa’s June 2 primary. Vice President JD Vance visited Iowa on Tuesday to campaign for Republicans, as the state has an unusual number of competitive races for open seats this year, including for governor and the U.S. Senate.

Rep. Ro Khanna says that affordability and the "Epstein class" need to be described as connected issues ahead of the '26 midterms: "What we need to do is say yes, affordability, we need an affordability vision. But the reason we're in this position is that we've had a group of governing leads of both parties that have shafted the working class"

Talking about affordability at NAN, Pritzker urges Democrats to campaign on raising the minimum wage: “You know what’s the best way to make things more affordable? raise people's wages,” he said. “Why is our party not loud, I mean really loud, about raising the minimum wage?”

IL Governor JB Pritzker onstage now at NAN: "Republicans say Democrats aren't patriotic. We're the most patriotic. We believe in this country more than they do. They're tearing down the laws. They're operating an unconstitutional fashion. They elected somebody who is ruining our democracy."

MD Governor and veteran Wes Moore on the U.S. military operation in Iran here at NAN: “You know, saying that the United States military can win a battle is like, that's the easy part. Because, yes, the United States military is the best military in the history of the world. There is nothing that the United States military militarily cannot do. The question is, should we be doing it? And I do not think that the President of the United States has answered that question”

When asked about lawmakers’ calls for the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment, Governor Shapiro told CBS News, “I think it’s clear, especially after the president’s tweet yesterday threatening to destroy an entire civilization, that he’s not all there. And what’s also clear is that the sycophants around him are not going to hold him accountable.”
