Jerome Tang was arguably a better assistant at Baylor than Colin Klein was at A&M. k-state people who think Klein can’t fail even more spectacularly than Tang are crazy. They made two extremely risky hires and are 0-1.

Not a boomer. Too young to have seen Boozer play. Grew up on Blackman and Richmond, 2 of my favorite K-State players. I’ve since added Pullen to my Top 3 favorites. That said, as far as total points & 3s… the 3pt line didn’t exist for Blackman, & Richmond only had 2 yrs in a K-State uni. As far as win totals, both also played in an era when “20 win seasons” were a benchmark bc fewer games were scheduled. (Again, Richmond w fewer seasons.) All 3 made 1xElite 8. Just adding context. Like I said… Pullen is definitely on my Mt. Rushmore….

An hour away and a $78 Uber ride. Pretty much necessitates renting a car and for an 11:00 AM game I would need to stay in Lawrence which had virtually no hotels when I looked a month ago. All of the hotels they weren't $300 per night were in Topeka, Wichita, McPherson, and other cities. Also, flights to Kansas City were all $800 plus.

I think the worst thing about being in the Big 12 is how terrible the road games are. Truck stop locations and the non-existent fanbases. Empty stadiums everywhere except SLC, Provo, and Lubbock.

The 2012 Baylor game was over before the final minutes. Instant defeat like the 1998 Big 12 title game and a final-minute loss to a 18-point favorite on the road hits me different. Maybe not everyone. But it hits me different.
