I think the reason new year resolutions matter is because it adds a timeline to your goals which brings accountability and forces you to create systems. People with failed resolutions are the ones who failed to create systems!

@kunksed Monetisation might be the reason. Many small creators pour their hearts into quality content but grow slowly because they don’t chase the algorithm’s clickbaity hooks. Meanwhile, those who optimise only for growth scale faster, but often with mediocre content!

You should always keep a list of questions that you obsess about that can’t be answered easily. This fuels lifelong curiosity and makes life so much more interesting as you keep forming a web of connections around such questions.

@waitin4agi_ Interesting & True! I recall reading a blog post that discusses why people don't market themselves. Our desire to be right is causing us to take the wrong steps.

I want to give you a very interesting insight from seeing video content creators. Most people never succeed at content because they’re very worried that their friends will find them cringe while they do their first few videos (and get no views). The secret of the most successful content creators who made a lot of videos early on was that they had no friends and therefore no one to judge. You either needed that, or balls.
Varun Mayya@waitin4agi_

It’s harder for genZ to build, say, or do things that are truly contrarian because they grew up with social media and never had a period before being caught in the online status game. So rare to see a differing opinion from the rest even. Unfortunately most success requires you to be misunderstood short term.
