Japan Travel Tips - # 7 - Buy loads of SUICA in Tokyo!
Welcome SUICA alone allows credit cards to load the IC cards.
So when you land at Tokyo airport, just buy as many of these 10k JPY cards as possible. 😉
ICs are like cash/ our UPI and can be used anywhere. Even where they don't accept cards or charge surcharges for credit card use.
I suggested this to a person I am assisting with the Japan trip, and we bought these 👇

🚨 Load Japanese IC card with credit cards IC cards like SUICA, ICOCA, etc are like the UPIs of Japan. They are accepted almost everywhere and convenient. A must have. The only way to load physical IC cards with credit cards are the Welcome SUICA. Welcome SUICA is available in Tokyo only. At Narita, Haneda, and certain mega railway station like Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Shibuya, etc. Tip: Get SUICA for kids (below 12 years) as we get half fares and for this don’t bother with welcome SUICA. ⚠️ Note that the balance, if any, is forfeited and validity is only 30 days. Another way is through Apple wallet but this isn’t available for Indians. So buy loads of welcome SUICA cards at Tokyo 😀

Tensions between Japan and China have begun to affect travel and tourism, leading to noticeable disruptions on both sides.
Several major Chinese travel agencies have halted sales of Japan-bound tours after Beijing issued a warning advising citizens not to visit Japan, while Chinese airlines are allowing free cancellations or changes for Japan-bound flights.
The impact is already being felt in Japan's tourism sector, with some hotels and companies reporting cancellations from Chinese clients, though they say the effects remain limited for now.
The entertainment industry has also been hit, with the release of two Anime films in China, 'Cells at Work!' and a new Crayon Shinchan movie, postponed indefinitely.
Chinese visitors make up Japan's largest group of foreign tourists, spending 590 billion yen in the July–September period alone, and experts say that any prolonged drop could heavily affect Japan's tourism-dependent businesses.
