Recently I published an article on optimizing for near me and had people all over the place tell me Google is smart enough to know what to rank for these queries and adding "near you" to your content doesn't help. Meanwhile, on the Sterling Sky site....😂 Yes, Google actually gave us impressions for "plumber near me" just because I used it in an article about optimizing for "near me".  My favorite line from the article: The smartest SEOs know how not-smart Google really is.
