Fortnite has returned to iOS in Japan, and Epic Games Store for iOS has launched in Japan today! Brazil is coming next, and we will continue to fight for the rights of all developers around the world!

@TimSweeneyEpic You’re so hilariously hypocritical. You’ve never had this energy towards @PlayStation or @Xbox despite them taking the same 30% cut, because they’re your main moneymakers. Where’s the lawsuit against either of them?

@rowlsmanthorpe Apple “Services” is mostly confiscating 30% of the revenue from makers of iOS apps, at many times unlawfully as adjudicated here in the United States of America.

Tim Cook's legacy in five charts 1. The shift to services. Barely visible in 2011, now worth $90bn+ a year. He inherited a hardware company. He leaves a platform

@TimSweeneyEpic Good news is with your layoffs there probably won’t be any new content coming! Get to bug fixing.

@ScyanYT If a game were staying exactly the same, the developer could fix more and more of the old bugs over time. But for a game that is evolving, new bugs are being created as new features are added, so the number of bugs never approaches zero.

It’s true! And it’s normal software development. We prioritize reported bugs. We fix them in priority order. At the bottom are low-priority, low-impact bugs. We find the cutoff point where fixing those bugs is less valuable to the game than other things, and we drop them.
FNBRintel@FNBRintel

According to reports, Epic routinely mass deleted the company's backlog of bug reports despite them not being resolved. 😬 (via @business)

@OutofGalaxyy Then make a shortcut to toggle WiFi and add it to your control centre? People are still clueless how to use their phones, in the big 2026 🫩

@TimSweeneyEpic Don’t care, Steam doesn’t add literal minutes to game boot ups like EGS does. Speaking of which, why won’t you release Fortnite on Steam if you’re so pro-consumer?

Currently there's a misleading community note on this. Yes, you can buy Steam keys off Steam. ONCE YOU OWN A GAME, Steam forces developers to use Steam payments for all in-game purchases and pay 30%. This is the practice courts found illegal for Apple and Google.
Tim Sweeney@TimSweeneyEpic

Steam’s rules do explicitly prohibit games from steering players to competing purchase methods, forcing everyone to pay 30% to Valve. Apple and Google did the same until the court explicitly found this practice to be unlawful. Now they don’t!

@BoundaryBreak @Stealth40k If it was Nintendo’s decision, then the Japanese release for the game on PS5 wouldn’t be identical to the censored Switch version. It’s AdHoc’s fault for not making a separate Japanese release. Use your reading skills.

Nintendo provided an official statement on the Dispatch censorship controversy: "Nintendo requires all games on its platforms to receive ratings from independent organizations and to meet our established content and platform guidelines. While we inform partners when their titles don’t meet our guidelines, Nintendo does not make changes to partner content. We also do not discuss specific content or the criteria used in making these determinations." gonintendo.com/contents/57182…

@EpsilonRho @spookydoodyt Hytale began as a mod for MC. This version exists simply because MC couldn't handle everything they wanted to do. It's quite literally trying to be it's own version of "Minecraft but better" by all metrics. Doesn't mean you'll see it that way.

@pcgamer This is a vile lie by PC Gamer. I criticized a government official for pressuring Apple and Google to block a speech app owned by their political opponent, deplatforming 500,000,000 users on the pretense of stopping a small number of users from distributing disgusting content.

@hanghuang_ @uncreativetom Literally does the same thing, TUI vs GUI. I’m using CleanMyMac for many years, no issues. I also know a few devs from MacPaw so definitely can say it’s not a scam.

@KoleHoenicke @JaceThings fwiw Zen does support Firefox’s native syncing options, it’s not as pretty as Arc’s and a lot more manual, you just have a list of tabs opened on other devices and you can choose to open them on your current one. Arc was excruciatingly slow to use on Windows so I had to jump ship

@joshm How long until Dia gets the boot? How do you expect users to adopt this AI slop when you abandoned your own users after they’ve built a viable system with Arc? I was an avid user and told everyone about Arc, never again. And to just reintroduce Arc with Dia is a massive joke.
