@Uber_Support every single time i book a trip with uber, the app gets the address wrong and it is frustrating - there appears to be no way to follow this up. How do i get this corrected for me? Every single time.

My friends and I are super excited to hear Critical Role will be coming to London and do a live show! The thing is, we're all deaf and we do sign language. We found out that the venue will not provide sign language as the show is 'improvised'.. read more (1 of ?)

It seems that Twitter won't let you change the email address for the account! At least, not for me!

We recognise that in the past people from CALD communities may have found it difficult to engage with us. To understand how we can improve the NDIS, we want to speak with CALD people with disability. Have your say: bit.ly/3Sle1Xc

@Storm4Congress @elonmusk Weird, I block from time to time as a means of curation, I’m fairly specific with the content i want on my Twitter so I sometimes block whatever I feel I’m not interested in on that day. Seems to work too.

.@elonmusk has apparently changed the algorithm so that if you are blocked/muted en masse, your visibility is lowered. This allows campaigns from the left to silence the right, essentially eliminating free speech by weighing too heavily the downvotes over the upvotes. This explains why I never see @catturd2, @libsoftiktok or any other conservative account. “Lists” 👇🏼 are one tool used by the left to achieve this, and I fear Twitter may be lost already to those of us who don’t preach the mainstream narrative.

@duolingo hey! It is nearly christmas and there is someone in another country that plays duolingo with us. How can we gift them a paid subscription so that we can play duolingo together without any advertisements?

Just in case, I saved a bunch of reference tweets to my hard drive. I generated a list of tweet URLs, opened them all in Safari, and used the Save as PDF feature to put them all in a folder. Didn't figure out how to script the save as pdf, but I didn't have too many.

@McDonalds hey, as a deaf customer, it is frustrating that your staff only call out order numbers when ready, and do not use the display. I often do not know when my order is ready. had to guess when the staff called out repeatedly at macquarie shopping center, nsw, australia.

@mixedlinguist @AdamCSchembri But if i ask “what is a dog?”, you can explain the general concept fairly easily. The question in this case implies a context. But some words have many contexts and knowing which one is not always implied by the question.

@mixedlinguist @AdamCSchembri Not a linguist, but my understanding of an “untranslatable word” is a word that cant be translated without first explaining all the context of how that word was used in context. Once you have conveyed all the context, you will have translated a concept - not neccessarily the word

Another feature request: feedback.vrchat.com/feature-reques… This is useful for deaf and mute people, because they rely on visible face-face to see signs. They need know what you're doing and how panel is set up.

@simonw Also, that’s alpine Linux. I believe python might be significantly slower on musl based systems. Python will still be fairly slow, though, especially with the HttpServer, hopefully not that slow on glibc systems! Doesn’t detract from the impressive stats for red bean, though!

Also the performance numbers are ludicrous - 1,000,000 requests per second out of the box!
Justine Tunney@jartine

@jc50000000 @simonw Python normally isn't used on the frontend because it's slow. Redbean serves both dynamic and static content 100x faster than Python. That's like having 100 Flask instances sitting behind an NGINX load balancer!

@SussanWu Too traditional! In modern australia salt and fat is evil so many places go for the sugar instead for flavour!

I attempted cooking roast pork tonight. The Teens told me that It was too salty despite following a recipe (I’m not a big meat eater). Hot salt cured pork anyone?

Congratulations on @AlboMP becoming PM! I hope this means more access to news and important announcements with Auslan interpreters and an improvement to disabilities services!

@SparkyDerg It is probably because those specific models don’t support iOS 13 and newer.
