@DrAlmarielao I take her side. The man has no dignity. She correctly made him as a cheapskate and a complainer. Gentlemen don’t gripe about $3 in front of a lady.

A woman shares a date story from NYC. Everything starts great; good vibes, nice restaurant, smooth conversation. He orders a burger, and when the waitress asks if he wants cheese, he immediately asks if it’s extra. She says yes… over $3. He declines. Then he goes on a mini rant: “Can you believe they’re charging that much just for cheese?” She shrugs it off and says, “This is NYC.” Dinner goes on, everything seems fine. She finishes first, excuses herself to the bathroom… but instead, she finds the waitress, pays the entire bill, and quietly leaves. A few minutes later, he gets a text: “I took care of the bill. You should’ve gotten the cheese… this is NYC.” Some people saw that as savage confidence; like she clocked a scarcity mindset early and opted out. Others think it was overkill… judging someone off a $3 cheese decision might be a stretch, especially in a city where everything feels overpriced. Do you think she handled it right by leaving like that, or did she overreact to something small?
Dr.L@DrAlmarielao

A 40-year-old woman posts a video venting about dating… She says a 60-year-old man invited her to dinner at Cheesecake Factory, but she turned it down. Instead, she told him to take her to a robot show; something fun, different, “worth getting dressed up for.” After that? Silence. He disappeared from the app. She shrugs it off, saying she’s “high maintenance,” doesn’t really like men, and just wants them to take her out so she can enjoy herself; no overthinking, no emotional investment. In her words, she has “bigger things to think about… like AI and the future of the world.” There’s confidence… and then there’s treating people like entertainment. Wanting fun is fair, but expecting someone to play along while admitting you don’t even like them? That’s a different dynamic altogether. Is she just being honest about what she wants; or is this a mindset that guarantees she’ll keep getting ghosted?

@mtracey Interesting speech. Probably to get out in front of some nasty publicity but I liked where she said the “victims” should give the specifics under oath, which is exactly what they don’t want to do cuz in many cases it will make their claims subject to refutation.

There are conflicting opinions and reports about whether Melania chose to deliver this gobsmacking Epstein Speech with or without the consent, or knowledge, of Donald. One report suggests Donald was given a "heads up." But this could just be something like: "Heads up, Melania is about to give a speech." Doesn't necessarily mean Donald was involved in the planning of it. He could've simply been told about it at the last minute. Other reports suggest he had no knowledge that his wife was about to speak on Epstein, and call for renewed political action on the matter. So this at least appears to have been the personal initiative of Melania. Still, speculation will abound that it was plotted out in concert with Donald. Even though this would blatantly contradict Donald's repeat admonitions that everyone should forget about Epstein, and concern about the Epstein Files is a "hoax" cooked up by Democrats, as well as a cohort of "stupid" Republicans. Though of course Donald is not above contradicting himself, and is in fact becoming increasingly erratic/volatile, this would certainly be an all-time Whopper of a contradiction. For now, we simply don't know what gave rise to the Melania Epstein Speech, which is what makes this episode so gobsmacking.
Michael Tracey@mtracey

I don't know about you, but my head is still spinning over this Melania speech. WTF! Sure, there are photos of her consorting with Jeffrey and Ghislaine over the years, and maybe a fleeting email here or there, but has she ever really been THAT big of a focal point in the speculation? (Because now she definitely WILL BE...) She denied wrongdoing. What wrongdoing was she ever even accused of? Did anyone notice that while she was at it, she could've declared that her husband also didn't do anything wrong, but conspicuously chose not to...? Why suddenly make a televised statement on Epstein this afternoon -- apparently without Donald's knowledge -- calling for Congressional action and public "survivor" testimony, because, she claims, Epstein did not "act alone"? Donald has always been adamant that he feels the country should move on from Epstein. It's certainly not something he feels should warrant any further political or legislative attention. But... that's exactly what Melania just called for! So again, WTF!

I lived in a downtown condo. Hated it. People stomping around over me and blasting music next to me. Go out on the street & get pestered by panhandlers. And if walk to the store, lugging a case of bottled water back & waiting for the elevator. It was fun being downtown with no yard maintenance but still it got tiresome.

Americans… this is a good faith question. I’m not baiting or trolling. Why are you so scared of condos and walkable cities? Does not having to drive for your groceries freak you out? What about it makes you uncomfortable? Please be honest.

Four humans are about to fall into a 10,000°C wall of plasma at 25,000 mph with a heat shield NASA knows is flawed. Tomorrow evening. Off the coast of San Diego. Orion hits the atmosphere at 36 times the speed of sound. The air can't move out of the way fast enough, so it compresses into a shockwave twice as hot as the surface of the Sun. The plasma ionizes the surrounding air and blocks all radio signals. For several minutes, the crew is falling faster than any humans have ever traveled inside a spacecraft, and nobody on the ground can talk to them. The heat shield is 186 blocks of a material called Avcoat glued to a titanium skeleton. It works by charring, melting, and disintegrating on purpose. The destruction of the outer layer is the cooling mechanism. There is no backup system. No redundancy. The heat shield works or the crew doesn't come home. The Artemis I heat shield came back with over 100 locations where chunks had ripped off. NASA spent two years figuring out why, concluded it was gas pressure building up inside the material during reentry, and decided not to replace the shield. They changed the flight path instead. Steeper angle, less time in the danger zone. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said publicly that this approach "is not the right way to do things long term." The capsule will slow from 25,000 mph to 17 mph in thirteen minutes. Parachutes don't even deploy until the last four. Everything before that is managed by a curved piece of titanium and glue entering air twice as hot as the Sun. Tomorrow at 5:07 PM Pacific, San Diego might hear a sonic boom. That sound is four people betting their lives on NASA's math being right.
Insider Paper@TheInsiderPaper

NEW: NASA says that people along the coast of San Diego County in California might hear a sonic boom Friday afternoon when the Orion capsule carrying the Artemis II crew re-enters the atmosphere, wrapping up its historic trip around the moon. The boom may be loud enough to rattle windows when the capsule re-enters the atmosphere shortly before 5 p.m, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports

@Matt_Pinner Yeah and had to pound on the TV set & fiddle with the rabbit ear antenna (usually with tin foil on them) to get the vertical to hold. And if you woke up on the couch with the gray background & the American flag, you knew you were a loser.

My grandparents told me that in the old days, TV channels would stop broadcasting around midnight. They'd play the national anthem & then go completely off air until morning. Is that real, or are they just messing with me?

Trump has been exceedingly patient with the podcasters; too patient, frankly. I agree that disunity is horrible in the run-up to the midterms. But it's on the podcasters to stop acting like complete clowns, if they still care about the coalition at all.

The whole Artemis 2 trip to the moon thing just seems like a massively expensive pile of performative bullsh*t to me. They are really going out of their way to convince us they took the trip. Here are a couple of questions I have for those who ain't buying what the US government is selling: - How are the floating objects explained? - Where do the astronauts go during this mission if they didn't go around the moon or to space? - Is everybody involved in this (or any) space mission in on the lie? If it's actually compartmentalized, where the majority of people think we really went to the moon, who exactly knows about it and how could the astronauts be in on the deception? - Why don't the United State's enemies (like Russia or China) expose the BS? - Are there objects orbiting our planet, like satellites and the ISS?

An 85-year-old man had to take a sperm count for his physical exam. The doctor gave him a jar and said, "Take this home and bring back a sample tomorrow." The next day the man returned to the office and handed him the jar, which was as clean and empty as the day before. The doctor asked what happened, and the man explained, "Well, doc, it's like this. First I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then my left, still nothing. Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then her left—nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then the teeth out, still nothing. We even called up Arleen, the lady next door, and she tried too—first with both hands, then an armpit, she even tried squeezin' it between her knees—but still nothing." The doctor was shocked. "You asked your neighbor?" The old man replied, "Yep, none of us could get the jar open!"

Two groups of people in the world: 1. Those who absolutely hate the idea of taking pharmaceutical products, and consider them only as an absolute last resort 2. People who don’t mind at all, even consider it a badge of honor how many pills and injections they take (and the medical establishment feeds into this) Which group are you? I’m firmly in group 1

New report says Trump changed his mind after talking to Netanyahu, and decided to exclude Lebanon from the ceasfire so Israel can keep bombing it. I don't think it's possible for one man to be this manipulated by another man. An IQ that low is near impossible. So, blackmail?
