I’ve campaigned in 59 constituencies in 12 districts (yesterday’s campaigns were all repeat visits to support candidates in my own Parliamentary constituency). It’s been exhausting but I hope worthwhile. Today has been a day of interviews, the closing day of the campaign. Tomorrow is “silent day” — time to let the adrenaline subside and allow the high pressure to deflate. When Voting Day comes on Thursday, all one can say is: #ThinkTomorrowVoteUDF ! @INCIndia @INCKerala

Let me explain what actually happened; since BJP supporters clearly can’t. 👇 Congress hanged Afzal Guru on February 9, 2013. Done. Finished. No delay, no mercy. What PM Manmohan Singh was “upset” about was this: → Afzal’s family received the intimation letter 51 hours AFTER he was already hanged → The Chief Justice of India himself said families of death row convicts must be informed in advance; it’s a legal requirement → The Supreme Court’s own prison manual mandates it → The PM was upset about a Home Ministry procedural violation, not about the hanging Manmohan Singh agreed with the Chief Justice of India on due legal procedure. BJP wants to call that “sympathy for terrorists.” Now let’s talk about BJP: → You demanded Afzal’s hanging for years. Congress delivered it. You took credit. → When BJP hanged Yakub Memon in 2015, his family got full access, a last call to his daughter, and the body returned for last rites; by your own government. Was that sympathy for terrorists too? → The 2001 Parliament attack happened under Vajpayee’s BJP government. Their intelligence failure. Their security lapse. Congress inherited the case, prosecuted it, and hanged him. → DSP Davinder Singh; a decorated BJP-era J&K police officer; was arrested in January 2020 ferrying Hizbul Mujahideen militants. Afzal Guru had named him in his own letters. Your government decorated him. That’s the real Afzal Guru story you’re running from. Congress hanged the man. BJP decorated his alleged handler. A PM agreeing with the Chief Justice of India on legal procedure is not a scandal. A party that shielded DSP Davinder Singh for decades using a 2013 NDTV headline; that’s the scandal.

NATO Members Condemn But India Dodges: A Diplomatic Misstep Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have become the primary facilitators for U.S.-Iran dialogue and a ceasefire, after Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty led an "intensive diplomatic offensive." Yet all three strongly condemned the February 28 U.S.-Israeli joint war on Iran, calling it an "unacceptable violation of sovereignty," a “blatant” or unjustified attack. They were also quick to denounce the targeted assassination of Iran’s supreme leader, who also served as the country's head of state. In keeping with diplomatic protocol, they sent official messages of condolence to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian over the killing. In fact, most of America’s allies among the 32-nation NATO alliance view the war as unnecessary and illegal under international law — as Spanish leader Pedro Sánchez called it at the outset, and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier put it on March 24. In stark contrast, India — the world’s largest democracy — has avoided any implied criticism of the U.S.-led war. Official statements steer clear of terms like “aggression” or “attack,” sticking instead to bland phrases such as "deep concern," "evolution of the situation" and "escalation in West Asia." Discarding diplomatic protocol, New Delhi sent no official condolence to Tehran over the supreme leader’s killing, despite the assassination flagrantly violating the international convention against targeting a head of state or government. Only after opposition criticism did the government, on March 5, dispatch the foreign secretary to sign the condolence book at the Iranian Embassy. New Delhi also refrained from even obliquely criticizing the March 4 U.S. sinking — in India’s own maritime backyard — of an Iranian "guest" warship returning from an India-hosted multilateral naval exercise, which featured U.S. Navy participation. Yet today, Washington has sidelined India in its diplomatic outreach to Tehran through third parties, even as the U.S.-led war holds the Indian economy hostage. The lesson is clear: No country should abandon its principles, especially when a war of aggression sets a dangerous new precedent in international relations. While ties with the U.S. and Israel serve India’s vital interests, appeasing self-centered, norms-flouting leaders like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu can only backfire.

WATCH | Finally, Rajeev Chandrasekhar agreed in a press conference yesterday that the property #408 we disclosed is his, and that the property tax paid receipt is in his name. Kudos to the reporter who asked pointed questions and made him admit this. His argument throughout the press conference was to file a case against him if there were issues in his affidavit. That’s his favourite game. There are multiple cases filed against him for his false affidavit since 2018 in the Delhi High Court, the Supreme Court, and even the Kerala High Court. Most of these cases were referred to the CBDT and the Income Tax Department. None of them has been closed so far. And you know why? If they complete the investigation, they will have to disclose his real assets and their value. So, what credibility do @ECISVEEP and @CeoKerala have left? We have provided direct evidence to the ECI, and the accused has not denied it. Why didn’t they reject his nomination when @CeoKerala has the power to do so? What can you do as a citizen witnessing this fraud done to our electoral system? If you are a voter from Nemom, you can do more than anyone else. If you are not from Nemom, at least share this video and talk about it with everyone you know. We need to show him and his arrogance that a billion dollars cannot buy a billion people’s voices. @NishaThettayil explains

A Security Fiasco in India’s Northeast: The arrest of six Ukrainian nationals — all war veterans — and one American citizen with combat experience in the Syria and Libya conflicts by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) for providing military equipment and training to Chin rebels and other militants in Myanmar with ties to Indian insurgent groups casts an unflattering light on the security apparatus in India’s vulnerable northeast. ■ According to court filings, the seven accused mercenaries entered India on tourist visas and traveled undetected to the sensitive border state of Mizoram without obtaining the mandatory Restricted Area Permits (RAP). They then illegally crossed the unfenced international border into Myanmar’s Chin State. ■ The court filings state that, while in Myanmar, they provided training to Chin insurgents and other ethnic rebels with documented links to Indian militant organizations such as ULFA(I), NSCN and the Kuki National Army operating in the northeast. This training included: →Drone operations and assembly →Jamming technology and weapons handling →Supplying a “huge consignment” of drones sourced from Europe ■ The seven men subsequently re-entered India through the Mizoram-Myanmar border — again without detection by border or local police forces — before traveling deep into the Indian mainland. ■ They were eventually tracked by federal agencies and arrested on March 13 at transit hubs far from the Myanmar border while in the process of leaving India: →The American was detained at Kolkata airport →Three Ukrainians were arrested at Delhi airport →Three Ukrainians were arrested at Lucknow airport The NIA has charged them under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), including Section 18 (terrorist conspiracy). The introduction of European-sourced drone technology and jamming expertise into this theater represents a significant “force multiplier” for insurgent groups. The investigation further indicates that the seven men were part of a broader conspiracy to transport sophisticated drones and other Western weapons into Myanmar via India, effectively establishing a “tactical corridor” through India’s northeastern borders. The scale of the security lapse is difficult to overstate. That these individuals were able to enter India, reach its northeast with military equipment, cross into Myanmar, and then return through the same route without detection points to a serious intelligence and border management failure. Their successful movement of a large consignment of drones and related supplies through Mizoram suggests that external provisioning of arms to Indian insurgent groups may be occurring more frequently — and more invisibly — than officially acknowledged. Taken together, these developments suggest that India’s northeast risks becoming a permissive operating environment for foreign actors fueling the Myanmar conflict, with spillover effects increasingly visible in Indian border states such as Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland.

@thekorahabraham Anyone who has watched Kerala elections closely for many years knows that this is how INC works. This isn't a cadre party. And the coming election is one where people of Kerala are looking to vote out the incumbent govt. As the opposition, UDF can take some time to finalize.

"The killing of a sitting head of state in the midst of ongoing negotiations marks a grave rupture in contemporary international relations. Yet, beyond the shock of the event, what stands out equally starkly is New Delhi's silence." Here is a hard-hitting column by CPP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi ji, published in The Indian Express, titled ‘Government's silence on killing of Iran leader is not neutral, it is abdication'. A must-read. 👇

#WATCH | Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi says, "I don't think PM will have the guts to come to the Lok Sabha today because if he comes, I am going to give him this book. If the PM comes, I will go physically and hand him this book so he can read it and the country can get to know the truth." "...Every youngster in India should see that this book exists. This is Mr Naravane's book. He has given an entire account of Ladakh in this book; I have been told that I cannot quote this book. The main line is what the PM said - "jo uchit samjho wo karo". When the (former) Chief of Army Staff General Naravane called up Rajnath Singh ji and said that Chinese tanks have reached the Kailash Ridge, so what should we do? First, Rajnath Singh did not respond to him. He asked Jaishankar ji, NSA and Rajnath Singh but received no reply. He then called up Rajnath Singh once again. Rajnath Singh told him that he would ask the 'top'. The standing order of the 'top' was that if Chinese forces come in, we should not fire on them without permission. Naravane ji and our Army wanted to fire on those tanks because they had entered our territory. Narendra Modi ji gave a message that "jo uchit samjho wo karo". It means that Narendra Modi did not fulfil his duties; he told the Army chief to do whatever he wants as "mere bas ki nahi hai." Naravane ji writes, 'I felt really alone, I was abandoned by the entire establishment."
