@arc7gaming @laurent_bart @TomorrowsWar @bethe_church I know, which ones? Sadducees Pharisees, essenes, etc
English

@laurent_bart @KuroKamiii @TomorrowsWar @bethe_church Because we also believe the OT, where it says who was entrusted to the scriptures
English

@arc7gaming @KuroKamiii @TomorrowsWar @bethe_church Again : why do you think we care, as Christians, about what is the Jewish canon ?
English

@arc7gaming @laurent_bart @TomorrowsWar @bethe_church yeah, and they preserved the deutercanonical books
English

@redeemed_zoomer @HoldenCCole If they have an inkling of history they will. What prevents every other offshoot in Christianity (especially those that came after 1500 years) from claiming so?
English

A few Fathers debated some books. The Church settled the canon.
Rome, Hippo, and Carthage affirmed the same canon long before Protestantism existed.
All this shows is why the Church’s central authority to settle debates is necessary.
Redeemed Zoomer 👑@redeemed_zoomer
@HoldenCCole There were many church fathers who used either the present day Protestant canon or similar
English

@arc7gaming @laurent_bart @TomorrowsWar @bethe_church Which sect of Jews you going to choose to go with then? There were a few and most all only consider the Torah inspired
English

@KuroKamiii @laurent_bart @TomorrowsWar @bethe_church Does the OT not talk about the Jews preserving the scriptures?
English

@arc7gaming @JohnnyWelte @delmontyb @redeemed_zoomer @HoldenCCole Because it deformed, destroyed, and/or rejected what was there
English

@blockedbyjdub @BillArnoldTeach @CharlesTingler Neither is Bill Arnold. He knows absolutely nothing about what Protestantism teaches.
English

@arc7gaming @JohnnyWelte @delmontyb @redeemed_zoomer @HoldenCCole It matters because it shows Trent didn’t invent the 73 book canon which is a common Protestant misunderstanding.
And the quotation marks were employed because it wasn’t a reformation
English

@bethe_church It was never part of Scripture according to who?
English

@ScoutingAlong @JohnnyWelte @delmontyb @redeemed_zoomer @HoldenCCole Why does it matter that it was before the reformation? And why the quotation marks?
English

@JohnnyWelte @delmontyb @redeemed_zoomer @HoldenCCole Yeah which is before the Protestant “Reformation”
But the 73 book canon was affirmed in councils dating back to at least 382 AD at the Council of Rome
English

@BillArnoldTeach @CharlesTingler He’d smoke you in a debate. You can stop lying about Protestantism.
English

@CharlesTingler 🍻 Welcome to the club.
He blocked me too.
I tried calling him to Catholicism and he crashed out.
English

@ImmanuelEOC @redeemed_zoomer @BasedDavePA You think a debate over the trinity can be handled better than minor semantic differences in Protestantism?
English

@redeemed_zoomer @BasedDavePA If we assume that only apostolic communities can claim continuity, we can easily narrow our list for like three major branches (RCC, EOC and EOO). They diverge dogmatically in some specific points that can be better handled than the doctrinal fragmentation seen in protestantism.
English

@therealbaldtim @BillArnoldTeach Sure, you just have no record of yours existing for 1500 years.
English

@arc7gaming @southtampa @BillArnoldTeach Believe is work
Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
It doesn't say alone
And show you your faith I will show you my works
