A man with no working truck convinced Wall Street he had built the next Tesla. His company hit $30 BILLION. All he did was push it down a hill with no engine.
> Trevor Milton founded Nikola in 2014, named after the same inventor as Tesla.
> The goal was to build hydrogen powered trucks that would make diesel obsolete. He had no trucks.
> In 2018 he released a promotional video called Nikola One In Motion. It showed a sleek semi truck accelerating smoothly down an open highway.
Investors went wild.
> What nobody knew was that the truck had no engine, no fuel cell, and no propulsion system of any kind.
> Milton's team towed it to the top of a hill, tilted the camera to hide the slope, and let it roll.
> He spent the next four years doing the same thing with words. On podcasts, television and social media.
> Investors were told Nikola could produce its own hydrogen. It could not. They were told the trucks were ready for production. They were not. They were told orders were flooding in. They weren't.
> In June 2020 Nikola went public. Within days the company was worth $30 BILLION, more than Ford.
> Milton's personal stake hit $7.3 BILLION overnight.
> A $32.5 MILLION ranch in Utah followed. A record for the state at the time.
> In September 2020 Hindenburg Research published a report calling Nikola "an intricate fraud" built on "an ocean of lies." Milton resigned within ten days.
> A federal jury convicted him of securities fraud and wire fraud in 2022. Sentenced to four years in prison the following year.
> He never went. He was free on $100 MILLION bail pending appeal.
> He and his wife donated $3.2 MILLION to Donald Trump's 2024 campaign.
> In March 2025 Trump gave him a full pardon. The pardon erased $168 MILLION in restitution to defrauded shareholders.
> Nikola filed for bankruptcy the following month, leaving thousands of investors with nothing.
The company never had a product. The only thing that was real was the $30 BILLION valuation, the $7 BILLION that landed in his pocket and the pardon that made sure none of it had to be returned.

@EarthPapito It’s mostly a huge hood with some nice expensive parts sprinkled in.

@FluentInFinance There is a glitch and a friend of mine still gets charged only 400 for the annual fee. 😂

We pay $795 a year for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and they won’t let us into a half empty Sapphire Lounge with plenty of open seats.
“You’re more than 3 hours before your flight. You can’t enter.”
“But Delta delayed our flight 6 hours.”
“Nothing we can do. You can wait somewhere else.”
Finally cancelled my Chase Sapphire Reserve.

@jamiequint @Chase Also canceled it. Now I take 1-3% back in bitcoin with Gemini card.
English

Finally cancelled my Chase Sapphire Reserve because @Chase turned getting $795 of value out of the annual fee into a part-time job.

@Investmentkage Can’t there be landlords with multiple income producing properties that rent where they live?

@RoaringHammy Move to my paid off house in west Texas. Honestly I’m kind of wishing it. I’m done with Houston. After that I can do anything.

@MeesWynants To be fair Mexico probably needs it. The only country I would say this. Too many scammers and criminals hide easily.

Mexico just made it mandatory to link every phone number to your biometric data. Face. Fingerprint. Everything.
127 million phone numbers must be registered to a verified government identity by July 2026. Miss the deadline and your line goes dark. Anonymous prepaid SIM cards are gone forever.
They call it fraud prevention. What they are building is a national phone network where every number has a face attached to it.
And if you think this stops at Mexico you have not been paying attention.

@ScottFriedman3 @FIFAWorldCup I learned to wait until the match day and walk around outside the stadium. Their value drops exponentially as kick off time nears.
English

🚨Here’s what I am seeing now with @FIFAWorldCup…
- Flights are way down
- Hotels vacancies astronomical
- 🎟️ sales have stalled
Group stage matches are in big trouble at this point and 95% are going to drop big time from prices you see now.
If you’re a local in these cities you will have to chance to see a game relatively inexpensive if you wait until the end.
After group stage, there is a possibility that some FOMO could catch and fans start arriving here.
But for last 6 months it’s been nothing but negativity and daily price gouging.

@hispanicnomad I tell my fellow Mexicans that the Aztecs were lucky it was Spain that conquered them. The English would have exterminated all of them.
English

Spanish colonization was 10 times better than the alternatives
I was talking about this with a friend yesterday
Yes, people back in the XVI century did a lot of crazy sh*t
But they tried to assimilate and understand the natives from the beginning

We are being taxed way too much in America
Streamer Asmongold (Zack Hoyt) says he owes $4 million dollars for the year in taxes
He makes roughly:
- YouTube, over $400,000 per month
- In October he made about $165k from 30 streams on Kik
- Twitch he makes about $30k per month from subs
- Plus sponsorship deals and money from TikTok
He say he makes about $8-10 million per year
Now yes this is a lot. But in what world does this give the government a right to take half your money. Does the government provide $4 million dollars in services in one year for this person? No
We need to abolish the income tax and go to a flat tax
