Late filed item by @KMCabreraFL would let the Miami-Dade Commission waive otherwise required property appraisals for the purchase, sale or lease of real estate valued at more than $5M.
The board can now only do so after a recommendation from the mayor.

@MappingFL@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones That 107 Primary is an actual seat in the State House because there is no candidate for the GOP. Your keen mind is why the Democratic Party in Florida stays in the minority. That aside...while that seat means nothing to you it means a lot to the people who live in the district.
@arnieweiss@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones Like damn right we want the DEC involved in school board races. There are good candidates that care about kids learning actual history and bigots and nationalists we want to keep out
FAR MORE IMPORTANT than that 107 primary
@MappingFL@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones You believe in turning a blind eye. Got it. Regardless of my race the voters and candidates of District 107 deserve better. As for School Board. I did not say the DEC didn't have a role but I did say that sending 5 mailers on that race and none on this one speaks volumes.
@arnieweiss@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones I mean it doesn’t matter cause you are gonna tank on Tuesday but you are not the office designated to deal with questions of candidate legitimacy
Also the fact you can’t see why the DEC would get involved in school board races shows you don’t get basic politics
@MappingFL@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones and which red flag is that? Legally making sure the voters in the district know that there is a candidate who lied to get on the ballot? I am sorry that preventing election fraud is problematic for you. Slava Ukraini!
@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones I highlighted the NPA race to show the lengths the party was willing to go to communicate. Candidates for party nomination pay a fee that goes in part to the party and so they should have a reasonable expectation that the party will not turn its back on a situation like this one
@arnieweiss@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones Yeah don't think we want SOEs to be sending out mailers with bad things they think candidates have done. Probably violates 104.051(4) anyway. Also unsure why you keep highlighting SB races as “NPA” as if that’s a reason parties shouldn’t get involved.
@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones I was very specific that I would do what was within the law and never mentioned a mailer. That being said Wancito's registration record is clear as is the wording of the oath. The SA has had 2 months and should have been able to determine if this was criminal or candidate error
@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones State Attorney could've offered no perjury prosecution due to candidate error or explain actual prosecution risk if continuing. Prosecutors do negotiate w/ targets to get cooperation. Candidates don't have DEC's legal or cash resources.
@arnieweiss@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones Candidates and parties can and should do as much voter education as they want. Don’t think the state attorney is in the business of advising potential suspects of their legal risk. He either perjured himself or didn't; there’s no additional risk in “continuing”
@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones This is about protecting the voters and the integrity of our elections before the election. As Supervisor of Election I would have found a way to legally communicate that to the voters of that District. The DEC had an interest and instead focused on NPA school board races.
@arnieweiss@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones The oath isn’t useless; it elevates things the Leg thinks are important but aren’t themselves constitutional eligibility requirements; it gets a cand on the record in a serious way; and you can be charged with perjury if you lie on it.
@NLVWarren@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones The State couldn't do anything; nothing stopped the DEC. State's Attorney should have informed Wancito of his perjury and fraud risk if he continues. Instead of any action to educate voters we will have a flawed outcome. So the oath is useless? @nlvwarren
@arnieweiss@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@ShevrinJones It’s not that he’s unqualified; he is qualified by virtue of submitting all the required paperwork and meeting the constitutional eligibility requirements (which do not include durational party affiliation). It’s just that he lied on his candidate oath.
@JesseScheckner@NLVWarren@GlennaWPLG Little consequence to the defrauded voters of District 107 & candidates who those voters would have voted for to change the result. @ShevrinJones & DEC sent out several flyers about NPA School Board but nothing about an unqualified candidate on the ballot for a Democratic seat.
@JesseScheckner@willishowardii@jcp717@JesseScheckner Perhaps someone should ask @willishowardii about the original address of this organization since it was founded in 2006. What was its address before? Or was it under a bridge then also? You forgot to include your 13K fee to qualify. Integrity Matters for SOE.
Oddness: Last month, Miami-Dade elex supervisor candidate @ArnieWeiss got an IRS notice by mail meant for his opponent @WillisHowardII. Address on the envelope wasn't Weiss' but a nonexistent one @ an underpass. He thinks opponent @JCP717 is behind it. 1/3

@jcp717 in May accusing me of running for the "wrong reasons" Review your comments JC & don't forget to update your wildly inaccurate campaign filings. 5k spent since qualifying (🙈)? We are running for SOE integrity SHOULD matter. @JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@nbc6@CBSMiami
@JesseScheckner@GlennaWPLG@JesseScheckner he is taking votes from other candidates in a tight 6 person race and every voter that votes for him is being defrauded by the Francius and the Miami-Dade Democratic Party which has stood by and done nothing. @ShevrinJones
@JesseScheckner@HowRosen Nothing defamatory about it. Read the evidence and Planas' texts the timing lines up. Also, this didn't take any "power" as @JCP717 claims since this only took changing address information not hacking and as he said himself he has seen it all in his 30 years. @JesseScheckner
Weiss says he quickly contacted Asst. State Atty @HowRosen amd Howard re: the notice, which was for Howard and a fed-level PAC called Independent Voices for Change. He alleges Planas organized this to indicate Weiss and Howard are colluding or that Weiss is a GOP plant. 2/3
@BillyCorben@MiamiHerald@HeraldOpEd Amen @billycorben My @miamiherald endorsement panel was pathetic. Disregard JC Planas' ethics fine for election activities. Not willing to investigate Election Interference in my case or to follow up on the Election Fraud in House 107 with an ineligible candidate.
I’m done sounding the alarm: it’s time @MiamiHerald put @HeraldOpEd out of its misery. The editorial board does more harm than good. Promoting proactively corrupt politicians is a disqualifying abdication of their obligation to provide accountability journalism in a broken city.
@Fla_Pol@VoteWillis@jcp717@JesseScheckner Article proves JC has filed inaccurate campaign reports & under reported donations & spending. Willis doesn't even claim his filing fee. I am the only candidate in this primary filing accurate reports. That should matter for Supervisor of Elections. @fla_pol@JesseScheckner
