@ManUtd have been absolutely terrible today. There’s just no intent . Might as well give the academy kids a chance #mufc

Can Dalot ever - I mean ever - score a goal? I am sure he will miss even if it’s a penalty and the GK abandons the post.

I have news to share, but first, a short story. Several years ago, a young colleague from my team approached me and said, "I've already spent a year in my role. I want to do something different now." I was taken aback—one year feels like a blink of an eye in a long corporate career. Not wanting to appear old-fashioned, I offered him advice with a modern twist: "Give yourself at least two years to rock your role before you roll!" This phrase became my go-to wisdom for many young colleagues. Whenever someone approached me for a change after only a short time in their position, I would tell them: "For at least two years, rock your role before you roll!" There was one exception to this rule though. I would never discourage anyone from pursuing an entrepreneurial path. Businesses, societies, and nations progress because of entrepreneurial endeavours. So whenever someone wanted to quit to live their entrepreneurial dreams, instead of dissuading them, I simply asked, "Tell me how I can help you." Today, I am following the second rule and breaking the first. After a brief yet highly eventful time at Tatler, I have decided to pursue an entrepreneurial path. In the movie "Scent of a Woman," Al Pacino delivers a line I love: "Some people live a lifetime in a moment." Life in the elegant and fast-paced world of Tatler certainly felt that way. We launched several exciting products, set up industry-defining IPs, and hosted world-class events. Most importantly, I shared beautiful moments with amazing people—like when the Singapore team came home to celebrate Diwali, all beautifully dressed in their Indian attire! (Pictured here) Michel Lamunière, the charismatic and energetic Chairman & CEO of Tatler, is leading a hugely talented team that is poised to become Asia's Voice of Excellence—a vision we crafted together while hiking in Singapore's Bukit Timah Reserve! I have full faith in their abilities. My best wishes to all of them. As for me, I had two things forever on my wish list—Vipassana meditation and Machine Learning—emotional intelligence and artificial intelligence, if you will. I completed the Vipassana course last year and it’s time to focus on the latter now. I believe we're standing at the precipice of an AI revolution that will transform our world in ways we can barely imagine today. I'll be focusing on contributing to this in my next adventure—one that I'm truly excited about. I'll be sharing more details very soon! And yes, if you are a young professional, my advice to you will remain the same: "Give at least two years to rock your role before you roll, unless you are becoming an entrepreneur!"

@ViktorAxelsen @LoveDayKaMemer That’s true. There is really little reason for any organizer to move up from S750 to S1000. Same guaranteed players, yet significantly higher guaranteed prize money. Little to differentiate between S750 vs S1000

@LoveDayKaMemer Sure. Agree. 10 days is a stretch. But 7-8-9 days would be great as a start All I'm saying is at this point the super 1000's are not feeling 'different enough' compared to super 500's IMO. Other than more prize money + points.

🏸Would agree that matches/players don’t get enough exposure - I don’t think that’s because of the brevity of the tournament. In uk it seems to me that there’s still an amateur ethos that runs through badminton (there’s good and bad in that). I don’t think the skills or investment is there to take it to the next level.
Viktor Axelsen@ViktorAxelsen

Cool. All England and the other Super 1000's could be 10 days+ events. Give the players 1-2 more rest days, more time to hype the matches and more chances for media/fans to communicate with the players.

@ViktorAxelsen There’s obviously many perspectives to this. From a player perspective, it is a good move to give extra rest between matches For Organizers , it adds significantly to costs without adding to the revenue Key is to figure how to bring more sponsors $ to the sport

What an acceptance speech! Mithun Chakraborty raising the skin colour issue in our film industry is something nobody had dared raise till now. That he was able to overcome bias and prejudice is a commendable achievement by itself. This year’s Dadasaheb is totally well deserved.

I don’t want to get into a discourse on religion and affiliations, but just one a purely human level, this is so sad and gut-wrenching :( how did we end up like this after 6,000+ years of civilization?

Yazidi survivor Nadia Murad: “I was raped every day for 6 months. They killed my mother for being too old to be a sex slave. They killed all my brothers for refusing to convert to Islam. They call us devil worshippers.” The Islamists who did this are the real devil worshippers!

You may like her or dislike her attitude, but to see ANY PLAYER, let alone a champion like @CarolinaMarin go down like this is simply heartbreaking 💔 Hearing her cry aloud brings a tear to any sports fan. Take care, Caro and I pray for a quick recovery

Dad just came out of the ICU. He’s still recovering, still in a stupor, but we’re glad he still remembers the lyrics of his favourite Bollywood songs. Please wish him well folks!

This was from Feb 2024. 5 months later, still the same @BLRAirport How can you have 1 lounge for the entire international terminal and then decline every single international lounge access mechanism? Lounge key, NO. Priority Pass, NO. International credit card, NO.
Arun Cavale@aruncavale

Unpopular opinion probably, but the new Terminal 2 of #BengaluruInternationalAirport is underwhelming. Lacks food options (1 restaurant, 1 pizzeria, 1 bakery and 1 cafe). 1 lounge that doesn’t accept international cards / priority pass / LoungKey. Not much shopping options either

@BLRAirport international terminal 2 really needs to up its game. Fancy hardware cannot compensate for 1 lounge that doesn’t accept international cards, restaurants that don’t have more than 50% of their menu, Irish pub that serves hoegaarden when asked for stout etc

The saddest photos ever taken: A thread 🧵 1. This photo, taken in 1993, shows a starving child being stalked by a vulture in Sudan. Kevin Carter, who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1994 for this infamous picture, died by suicide the same year at the age of 33. In his suicide note, he wrote, "I am haunted by the vivid memories... of starving or wounded children..."
