Is AI the solution to India’s learning challenges? At AI Education Impact Summit in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the focus was - AI must not remain a concept but translate into real classroom impact at scale. The summit was graced by Shri. Partha sarthi Sen sharma @partha_sen2, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Basic & Secondary Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh, who emphasised that AI has the potential to strengthen the delivery of foundational learning when integrated thoughtfully into the education system. Uttar Pradesh is committed to exploring innovations that empower teachers, improve classroom engagement, and enable more responsive education governance at scale. Partnerships such as those with Sampark Foundation help bring together technology, pedagogy, and policy to improve learning outcomes for children across the state.” Adding to this, Smt. Monika Rani, IAS, Director General, School Education, Uttar Pradesh, underscored the importance of designing technology around classroom realities where tools can simplify lesson preparation, provide structured content, and generate real-time insights can help teachers focus more on teaching and less on administrative work, strengthening classroom effectiveness. Through keynote reflections by Shri. Vineet Nayar @vineetnayar, Chairman & Founder, Sampark Foundation and discussions led by Dr. K. Rajeswara Rao, IAS, President, Sampark Foundation alongside experts from leading institutions and industry, the conversations reinforced one core idea: AI is not the goal, it is a means to strengthen pedagogy, support teachers and improve learning outcomes for every child. With participation from education leaders across districts, the summit translated national vision into state-level action grounded in classroom needs. This marks the third chapter in Sampark Foundation’s AI State Dialogue series - a journey to reimagine how technology can truly serve education. Because the future of learning will not be defined by devices but by how effectively we use them to build capable and confident young minds. #SamparkAI #AIinEducation #TeachersFirst #SamparkFoundation @basicshiksha_up @UPGovt @EB_XdotO @sandyhardikar @IIML

Most innovation books talk about technology. Very few talk about a child who cannot read. That is why we feel deeply honoured that Sampark Foundation is featured as a case study in Genius at Scale: How Great Leaders Drive Innovation by Linda Hill @Linda_A_Hill, Emily Tedards, and Jason Wild, published by Harvard Business Review. @HarvardBiz The book has also reached the top ranks on Amazon. Sampark began with a simple question. If innovation can transform corporations, why can it not transform government classrooms? That question led to a stubborn belief. That every child can learn. That teachers, when empowered, can change millions of lives. That innovation in education must reach scale, not remain a pilot. Today that belief touches millions of children across India. But the real impact is not in the numbers. It is in a quiet moment. When a child who once sat silently in the classroom reads their first sentence aloud. Because innovation is not always about technology. Sometimes it is simply about unlocking the confidence of a child. Harvard Business School @HarvardHBS

Imagine a classroom where math feels like a game and every child wants to participate. That’s exactly what unfolded during this volunteering day. We recently hosted an inspiring Employee Volunteering Day with Citi India @Citi at PMC School 150 B, Pune, where 26 Citi employees joined hands to support children’s learning in an engaging and joyful way. Using specially designed Sampark Employee Volunteering Kits, the session transformed the classroom into a space of curiosity and play. Through interactive math board games, students practiced addition, subtraction, and multiplication while learning concepts through hands-on activities rather than rote methods. We extend our sincere thanks to the Citi team for bringing their time, enthusiasm, and commitment to create such meaningful learning moments for young minds. As digital classrooms continue to expand across Maharashtra, the collective focus remains on reaching every child with consistent, structured, and teacher-supported digital learning solutions ensuring technology strengthens pedagogy and improves learning outcomes. Today, Sampark Foundation works across with 1.4+ Lac schools out of which 50,000 schools in 8 states are coverted to smart shools and our focus in Maharashtra remains on depth of impact ensuring every digitally enabled classroom delivers stronger learning in mathematics and language. Our collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra reflects a shared belief: technology matters only when it strengthens teachers and improves learning for every child. #EmployeeVolunteering #Citi #EducationForAll #SamparkFoundation

Can AI truly transform learning outcomes in India? This question was the focus point at Sampark Foundation’s first AI Education Impact Summit held in Mumbai, Maharashtra bringing together policymakers, educators, researchers and practitioners to explore how AI can meaningfully strengthen India’s education system. In his keynote reflections, Shri Vineet Nayar @vineetnayar (Chairman & Founder, Sampark Foundation) highlighted a critical shift education must embrace: "The real question is how we create employable youth. That will not happen by teaching only numeracy or literacy, it will happen when we teach these skills to solve real problems." Delivering the keynote address, Shri Ranjit Singh Deol @RanjitSDeol, IAS (Principal Secretary of School Education and Sports Dept.) emphasised the growing role of technology and data-driven governance in shaping the future of education. He highlighted the responsibility of state governments to ensure that emerging technologies like AI are deployed thoughtfully focusing not just on innovation, but on scalable solutions that improve classroom learning. The summit also featured valuable insights from Shri Sanjay Yadav, IAS (State Project Director, Maharashtra), Shri Sanjay Naikade (District Education Officer, Pune), and Dr. Rajeev Vats (Assistant Director, Shiksha Sadan, Haryana), who shared perspectives on how AI can support education systems while keeping teachers and classroom realities at the centre of reform. Across the panel discussions, experts explored 3 critical questions shaping the AI-in-education landscape: 1. Where AI improves learning outcomes 2. Teachers First in the AI era 3. Data that governs This summit marked the beginning of Sampark Foundation’s AI State Dialogue series with 8 state dialogues planned across the country bringing together governments, educators, and technology leaders to collectively explore how AI can strengthen classrooms and improve learning outcomes for every child. Because the future of education will not be defined by technology alone, it will be defined by how wisely we use AI to support teachers and empower students. #SamparkAI #AIinEducation #TeachersFirst #SamparkFoundation

AI tools need testing before social sector rollout. @bsindia Our Founder, Vineet Nayar @vineetnayar, has reinforced something we deeply believe technology in the hands of children cannot be an experiment. It must be tested, contextualised, and implemented responsibly. There are different views in the ecosystem. Some believe AI should go directly to children. We believe teachers must come first. Tools must strengthen teachers, not bypass them. At Sampark Foundation we may not always follow the popular path, but we stand firmly for thoughtful, teacher-centred innovation.

A classroom, a few games, and many curious minds. At Korba Mithagar BMC School, the first @HDFCLIFE Employee Volunteering Program transformed learning into an interactive experience. Volunteers engaged children through maths board games, helping them build foundational numeracy skills while discovering confidence and joy in learning. Moments like these show how volunteering, when rooted in classrooms, can create lasting impact. #EmployeeVolunteering #HDFCLife #CSR #EducationForAll #LearningOutcomes #SamparkFoundation

A significant milestone forward for classrooms in Maharashtra unfolded in Nashik with the inauguration of the Sampark Smart Shala Program by the Hon’ble Shri Dadaji Bhuse @dadajibhuse, Education Minister, Government of Maharashtra. The event brought together senior government leaders and education officials with a shared commitment to strengthening classroom learning through meaningful use of technology. Discussions during the programme focused on the role of curriculum-aligned digital content, structured pedagogy, and effective classroom implementation in improving student learning outcomes. The demonstration of Sampark TV highlighted how the “Sahi Kram, Sahi Dhang” approach ensures that digital learning follows the textbook sequence, supports teachers in daily instruction, and reinforces concepts through audio-visual pedagogy. The Hon’ble Minister emphasised the importance of strong implementation, timely academic alignment, and the use of technology as a classroom support particularly to enhance comprehension, engagement, and continuity in learning. The conversations underscored a shared commitment to ensuring that digital infrastructure in schools translates into real educational value for children. As digital classrooms continue to expand across Maharashtra, the collective focus remains on reaching every child with consistent, structured, and teacher-supported digital learning solutions. So that technology serves as a means to strengthen pedagogy and improve learning outcomes. Today, as Sampark Foundation works across 50,000 schools in 8 states, our focus in Maharashtra remains on depth of impact ensuring that every digitally enabled classroom delivers stronger learning in mathematics and language. This collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra reflects a shared belief: technology matters only when it strengthens teachers and improves learning for every child.
