Occurrence records of 70% of India's 1350 bird species were analyzed to understand how our birds are faring. A few species are doing exceptionally well while some show dramatic decline. A manuscript detailing the methodology and outcome is now available as a preprint. @SoIB_India

Madhubani Painting artist Deepti Agrawal, hailing from Darbhanga, Bihar, served as the first Indian Grand Marshal for the USA Independence Day parade on 4th of July. She led the parade, accompanied by young artists displaying Madhubani paintings – a distinctive folk art of Bihar celebrated for its intricate patterns and vibrant colours. Her selection acknowledged over 30 years of dedicated contributions in heritage arts, community service, youth empowerment and humanitarian efforts. @kundan_ias
