@StarraEducation Our surgery uses AskMyGP online at 8.30am and I have to say they do an excellent job triaging when you've explained your symptoms and what response you'd prefer. Always get a prompt message saying what sort of appointment is appropriate. I appreciate not everyone can do online.

I know I’m not the only one to complain about this and feel the difficulty intensely but WHAT. THE. F. are we genuinely supposed to do about the fact it’s impossible to get a GP appointment by phoning & holding at 8:30am & then not getting through?

@Keir_Starmer It’s mainly down to GO surgeries not using their technology. I log onto Askmygp, request an appointment & get a call back within 24hrs. Never had a problem

@peter_levy I use Market Rasen Sg and whenever I've used the Askmygp app in the morning, I've always had a call back from a doctor or have an appointment made the very same day, sometimes within the hour, they are amazing

We've just got back from a visit to @EastCheshireNHS, where we're using digital solutions to improve patient outcomes and reduce costs in the Endoscopy department This will ultimately help the NHS diagnose cancer earlier

The surgery claims it uses the Evergreen app to book appointments - but that just defaults back to the online askmygp above. You can hold on the phone, but no one answers. Go down to the surgery in person, and they tell you someone will call back, but it might not be today

Don’t get sick on a Friday! My local GP surgery gives you four minutes to book an appointment on Fridays, otherwise you’ve missed out. This is the state of GP access in England @VictoriaAtkins @wesstreeting

@helenmallam Try not to worry... That's not always bad news. I always have a great response from my doctors, particularly through askmyGP. Despite popular belief, I find the NHS does generally work well regardless of the difficulties it faces.

@petemorristwit Our GP surgery triages using AskmyGP, open for requests from 6am to 4pm. It's excellent. You can get phone appts, email advice and/or a f2f appointment the same day, if you need one.

Why is everything so complicated! Went online to use AskMyGP. I need some medication to be put on repeat. Got a message back to say that they don't do it that way. Phoned doctors and got an email address. Emailed them, they replied that if not on repeat, then I have to phone 1/

@LongWordMonthly We have both used ‘AskMyGP’ on a number of occasions & it works well. Doctors generally do recognise symptoms that need a face to face consultation or referral to consultant. As with any new system suspect that it will be younger patients & doctors who adapt #bbcr4today

@TruthTalkingMav @jackfire220 @yorkshire_pad @mrhenrymorris I fully believe it, because some GP surgeries seem to be much better for others in this regard. The surgery I'm at use AskMyGP to triage, and on a few occasions I've had an appointment on the same day I sent the request. The issue is the varies hugely from surgery to surgery.
