Trump/MAGA exhaustion: Some of what wears you out is their hateful bigotry. Some, the self-pity and grievance fueling their need for power/control. The worst is their gaslighting to destroy everyone's grasp of reality. It's why they loathe factual reporting, evidence, and reason.

Today brings news that Putin is preparing to send drones and other military equipment to their autocrat allies in Iran to fight Americans, and Rep. Luna decides to give a private Capitol tour to the members of the Putin-loving Duma. Perhaps she showed them a tour of Trump’s bloody J6 insurrection, which Putin, as Trump’s mentor and good friend, regularly tries to whitewash as a friendly ‘stroll’ and a legitimate ‘protest.’ Perhaps she learned from her Russian comrades how to be completely obedient to an authoritarian president. Perhaps they discussed their common opposition to Ukrainian democracy and human rights and the sheer excitement of being on both sides of Trump’s war of chaos in Iran.

Nobody in the Trump administration planned for Iran to shut the Strait of Hormuz. Nobody planned for sustained missile strikes on American bases across the Gulf. Nobody planned for an energy crisis. Nobody planned for Europe to look at Washington, shrug, and walk the other way. Nobody, it turns out, planned for very much at all. Read the accounts of how this war was decided and you are left with one deeply uncomfortable realisation: the people who launched it appear to have been genuinely surprised by almost everything that followed. The Iranians shot back. The allies didn’t show up. The oil price went vertical. All of it, apparently, news to them. Which leaves two questions so obvious they’re almost embarrassing to ask. Trump changed the game. Countries clinging to calculations developed prior to Trump's second term are flailing. Israel is a nimble ally. They adjusted their calculations, and have been a most competent partner for operations in the Middle East. Trump is fighting foreign and domestic enemies of the US, and he is winning. Can all of this be lost? Of course. The domestic enemies of the US are most dangerous, many, powerful, and embedded deep even in the political party he leads. Time will tell.

What's happening in America today is way beyond party lines. Who we have as a president in office currently is a detriment to all Americans. Many people will say, well, you just dont like him and that would be true. But, what we have as a president today is not interested in the well-being of all Americans. His greed and self-interest is the only thing he's concerned about. To him this war with Iran is like a board game. But, it's real. The truth is, he's putting our military in a no win situation. Iran has been waiting for this all of their lives. They hate America and that hate has been deserved. Trump has been manipulated into fighting another country's war by a dictator we call an ally (Netanyahu)? We watch Trump's hate. We watch him destroy the White House. We watch him manipulate the stock market. We watch him put his name on historic buildings and on our currency. We're watching him deteriorate mentally right before our eyes and we do nothing. America is being held hostage by a madman and his disciples.
