The AI panic is really unbelievable today. The level of delusion and hype have grown to mythic proportions. Has AI beaten Pokemon Red yet? Like a normal 6 year old does, by looking at the screen? Oh it hasn't. But all jobs are over in 18 months? This website is full of idiots.

A great to-the-point article that echoes my experience earnestly trying to use UIKit and AppKit for personal projects. The web platform is just *so* far ahead on text, it is hard to explain to native devs the size of the gap in both features and dev experience.

It is right technically. Where there used to be 10 people, now there may be 1. I don’t know how people don’t understand such simple things. Remember, a lot of people graduate with CS degrees every year. Jarred rewrote Bun within a few days. “Build GTA 6, make no mistake” isn’t a meme anymore.

Still wondering why Antigravity disappeared so fast 😭 - Had massive hype - Developers were talking about it everywhere - People called it the future of coding - Looked insanely polished So what actually happened?

@sailaunderscore I want to see the actual deliverables of $250k in a year weeks work. That’s $13,000,000 a yr in salaries, I’m so serious when I say I want to see the actual work product output completed by that input

@dreamsofcode_io hot take: code doesn't need to be readable and clean anymore with agentic coding. new paradigm: - just vibe-shit the code - have enough tests written by ai - have enough security checks done by ai - make manual tests nobody needs to read the code anymore.

Experimenting with less intrusive auto complete suggestions. Local code complete output also baked in.

One app, two platforms, four programming languages. The things that look the simplest are often the hardest to build. @raycast is one of them. Here's a technical deep dive on how we built v2 👉 ray.so/v2-deep-dive

The battle of narratives is going strong. Our countries are a recurring target. It is time to act to tell the stories that make us strong. Let’s live our own story! Protect what matters - our democracy.

It’s happening. A massive new mega-project at the entrance of Thong Lo (former Bangkok Prep site on Sukhumvit 53) is now entering the EIA process. The development is huge: • 39-story hotel with 640 keys • 220 residences • Retail podium on floors 1–2 • Offices on floor 3 • Large rooftop park above the podium • Basement supermarket (finally for this area lol) Feels like the hotel could be a new-to-Thailand 5-star brand. Huge ballroom too. The residences will likely be branded residences. Any guesses which hotel chain it is? 👀 facebook.com/share/p/19Bfj8…

without googling, i still cannot figure out how to copy and paste on a mac into: 1. the provided Terminal app (which sucks) 2. Ghostty. C-V does nothing, C-v goes into escape insertion (expected). I refuse to google this and it should just be obvious...

The problem with making Desktop apps is actually the UI and it's not even close. Try making a native Desktop app using iced or god forbid QT and you'll see real pain. As opposed to that, just use any JS framework and it's always sunshine and rainbows. HTML + CSS and JS is the best abstraction for building UIs and it's not even close

I don't get why people keep reinventing electron. The problem with electron is JavaScript, not the container. JavaScript is an absolute pig when it comes to memory and CPU. I would love for someone to really fix this for desktop apps.
