Why in the WORLD would kids under 5 who completed their pfizer series NOT be eligible for a bivalent booster. Or the ability to mix and match and get a moderna bivalent boost. You create barriers then ask why there is no uptake?! @US_FDA @pfizer @CDCgov @PTF_org @CDCDirector

We are stuck—while daily #COVID19 mortality numbers have stopped rising, ➡️they’ve also stopped falling. Nearly 3,000 people are still dying every week. ~400-500 per day. 📍We could remain on this plateau for some time yet. #CovidIsNotOver theatlantic.com/health/archive…

This IS good news and aligns well with many prior report vaccination-mediated reduction (≥40%) of #LongCovid But to *prevent* this we need to block infections and transmission. As the virus evolved, that's unlikely to come from shots fortune.com/2022/09/17/nas…

More good news on sars-2 vaccines: they appear to prevent long covid (we've been waiting for answers to this question). A propensity matched cohort from the UK found that 2+ doses of vaccine decreased adjusted long covid risk by 41% (95% CI 31%-50%).

I don't see any evidence for how an annual Covid shot will provide durable protection (current ones wane after 4-6 months) without better vaccines, such as variant-proof, improved nanoparticles, and nasal wsj.com/articles/u-s-p…

My position on the right to choose is simple: our government should not be in the business of telling people what they can and can’t do with their own bodies.

Pssst: Just because you think you can afford to get Covid doesn’t mean you won’t spread it to someone who can’t. Covid is contagious. So is courtesy. 😷😷😷

UPDATE: I'm sure you've seen by now but President Biden has successfully produced two negative rapid tests and is officially out of Isolation. This is great news. However, I wanna take a moment to highlight the regiment he received should be available to all Americans.
