On November 16th, 2006, mechanic Bruce Van Natta went to his job working on massive logging trucks. Like any other day. But it would become the most incredible 9 months he'd ever known. He was just about to head home when the truck driver asked him to inspect one more leak under the engine block. The 10,000-pound truck was already jacked and one tire removed. Van Natta slipped under feet first to begin his inspection. A second later, the 20-ton jack snapped out of position, collapsing the cab across Bruce's midsection. Crushed him in half. In the brief moments of consciousness Bruce tried to wriggle free and cried out to God for help. Then he blacked out. Or did he? When Bruce came to he was standing over his own body. Saw the truck driver doing what he could until paramedics arrived. But there was something strange. Two shiny figures 8-feet tall stood over Bruce touching his midsection where the truck had smashed him. They were doing something he couldn't see, their arms wrapped up under the cab of the truck and beside the waist of his body. Bruce says, "I was definitely on the very edge of life and death. There were two thoughts in my head. One was, 'Shut your eyes and give up and die. You are just going to go to heaven anyway.' It was very loud. There was another voice in my head, much quieter. Much more of a whisper, 'If you want to live, you’re going to have to fight and you are going to have to fight hard.' The next thing I knew, my spirit went back down into my body just like a shot." He was flown by life flight to the nearest hospital, and doctors were certain he would never survive. Bruce's ribcage, pancreas, spleen, and 75% of his small intestine were near pulverized, and five major arteries had been severed. He had to undergo 5 major surgeries, all of which Bruce somehow survived. Surgeons removed all but 100cm of the intestine and did what they could to salvage his other organs. Bruce went from 180lbs to 126lbs, was promised months and months of therapy, and told he would have to find some way to live without his intestine. But God wasn't done with Bruce yet. "The Lord woke up a man in New York two days in a row. Someone that I met one time on vacation. He came and prayed for me in the hospital. Put his palm on my forehead, and when he prayed, he prayed the way Jesus taught us to pray. He spoke to the mountain, in this case my small intestine, 'I command you to supernaturally grow back length in the name of Jesus Christ.' When he did, I felt like 220 volts come out of his palm into my forehead, right into my body. I could feel my intestines moving around and up and down." When able to eat on his own again, Bruce regained 170lbs, astonishing the doctors. So they did X rays of his abdomen and found that his small intestine had not only returned, it DOUBLED in length. Almost 9 feet of small intestine. That's not all. "Over and over, the Lord kept confounding the doctors from the point of saying I shouldn’t lived. I should have bled to death. My intestines miraculously coming back. God was showing miracles were happening. My pancreas rejuvenated by itself. My spleen rejuvenated by itself. Miracle after miracle, God just showing up and showing Himself very real and very strong. He is a miracle worker." Bruce founded SweetBread Ministries and wrote a book, 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘴. I don't have enough faith to be an atheist.

Saw a trash can rolling up the driveway all by itself and just stood there thinking, "Yep... this is how it ends." Then it wobbled, stopped, and out stepped the neighbor's kid like nothing happened. Had me questioning everything for a solid minute. 😂🗑️

A civilization begins to weaken when its leaders can follow instructions but cannot make decisions. A graduation ceremony should teach young people that achievement deserves dignity. Instead, Centennial High School gave them a lesson in institutional stupidity. Four years of work ended with students sitting soaked in the rain because someone treated a “Rain or Shine” policy like sacred law instead of using basic judgment. This is how societies lose their ability to think. Rules become excuses. Policies replace common sense. Adults hide behind procedure while children pay the price. The issue was never the rain but that no one in charge had the courage to say, “This is ridiculous. Move it inside. Delay it. Protect the students.”

THIS WEEK of the Great Rosary Campaign, we are starting a new mini-campaign for HOLLYWOOD, in which we will pray the Rosary for the conversion of the giants of the entertainment industry who have such a massive impact on the culture of the United States and the world. For this first "Hollywood Edition" of the Great Rosary Campaign, let us pray for the conversion of the greatest living composer in the world, and arguably the greatest composer of the last half century or more: John Williams (YouTube link below). He wrote the soundtrack to many of our most beloved movies—Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and countless others—and for all the incredible blessings he has given us through music, let us now pray for his coming to the fullness of truth in the Catholic Church in return. The SUGGESTED PENANCE this week is a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
