When I was getting my pilots license, one of the top rules was check the active runway before entering. The truck do not see the plane due to the weather/time of day, or didn't check at all. Both caused the accident

At LaGuardia Airport, New York Tower ATC: "I messed up." Another pilot: "Nah, man, you did the best you could."

@MarinasHammer @Turbinetraveler Listen to the 10 min audio, a single controller handling an extremely high workload, which should under FAA be split amongst other controllers. This is inevitable when you overload the controller mistakes happen, rember the swiss cheese model, all layers need holes this happens.

I am curious, from this audio, the fire truck requests to cross and ATC gives them the go ahead- into the path of Jazz landing. Is there something else I’m missing here relating to this particular incident that mitigates that particular ATC responsibility from granting the fire truck to cross when asked? I’m genuinely curious.

Look at the 2002 Überlingen mid-air collision before you talk about an industry you clearly dont understand.
