A police officer stopped a young man's car and, upon checking it, realized that his driving license had expired.
The police officer asked him why he was driving with an expired license.
He answered:
«They just fired me from my job, and the money I have is only enough for me to eat, pay rent, and my bills. I am from another state and I have come here to study at university. Plus, I have a job interview».
The police officer had the option of applying the law and prohibiting the young man from driving his car, but he decided to listen to his heart.
He parked his police vehicle, helped him tie his tie, got into the young man's car and accompanied him to the interview location.
They entered together. The #police officer apologized and explained the reason for the young man's delay. They hired him!
The young man got the job and obtained a temporary driving license until he raised enough money to renew his license.
That's humanity!

With the storms now behind me, I can finally let the cat out of the bag. A few years ago, I quietly began an LL.B programme at the Faculty of Law, Baze University. Last Friday, I wrote my final examination, closing a chapter I came close to abandoning twice.
Law stretched me in ways I had not imagined. It sharpened my understanding of power, rights, justice, evidence, governance, property, conflict, and the delicate architecture by which societies hold themselves together. It taught me to listen beyond noise, think beyond instinct, and argue with greater discipline.
I was blessed with an amazing cohort and a remarkable faculty of lecturers whose kindness, patience, and guidance steadied me through difficult seasons. I also owe a special debt of gratitude to my friend, @Meetmodis, whose encouragement first inspired my decision to study law. He went the extra mile to initiate my application for admission into the Faculty of Law, and that singular act became the beginning of this journey.
Above all, this journey belongs as much to my family as it does to me. It is no surprise that I dedicated my final-year project to my wife and children, who bore the quiet cost of my absences, late nights, and divided attention with grace and love.
PS: The Gen Zs dragged me into their signing-out ritual when I attempted to sneak away after the final paper, turning my fine shirt into a souvenir of this academic adventure.

Opay is going places
I ordered furniture online, under pay on delivery. I don't trust Nigerian online markets. So the goods were delivered. I checked it and everything was intact as ordered. It was time to pay the vendor who was far away in Lagos. He gave me a moniepoint account number. When I wanted to pay using my Opay account,it gave me an Opay account option in his name. I called him and said I would pay to his Opay account since I was also using Opay. He gave me the go-ahead.
That was when the drama started.
When I inputed the account number and his name appeared,Opay sent me a message that the account was involved in Internet fraud in the past, and that I must go through security checks before I could make the payment.
I called the guy and said "hey boy, look I don't have problems with you and you truly deserve the payment I am about to make, but it is like you were involved in an internet fraud, according to our Oga Opay". He agreed he had trade dispute with a customer through Opay and the matter ended in police station.
I had to spend minutes answering questions from Opay, how I met him, what was the reason for the payment, whether I received the goods and satisfied with the conditions. I answered yes to all and accepted Opay's terms of agreement.
That was when the system allowed me to proceed with the payment, and this time I had to go through face identification, was asked to smile, turn my head and blinked my eyes twice.
It was and exciting experience with a million thanks to oga Opay. Going through the security checks I must have been a donkey to make payments without being sure of the business.
Now that the company is opening big branches across states,I will surely increase my deposits with them. The company opened as a digital wallet on 1st January 2018 and is owned by Zhou Yahui, a Chinese national with 30% stake of the company.

“Barrister, let me tell you something…
A few days ago, my mother called and asked me to help an elderly woman who needed surgery. They needed ₦80,000. I told her things were tight, but she insisted I should handle everything.
I said, ‘Umma, please, let me send ₦10,000 for now,’ but she refused. She said I should pay it all.
Honestly, I had the money at that time, but I had responsibilities. If I gave out ₦80,000, I didn’t know how we would survive. Still, she told me, ‘Allah will repay you.’
My heart became heavy, but I asked for the surgery date. She said it was on the 13th of Ramadan. When the day came, I sent the full ₦80,000.
Wallahi, after sending it, I had nothing left. I didn’t even know how my family would eat till Sallah. I have three children, and there was no talk of Sallah clothes.
Then something happened…
On the 20th of Ramadan, just 7 days later, my boss called me to Abuja for a job. A land deal for his company.
The next day, the transaction was completed… in billions.
Barrister, I walked away with ₦25 million.
Even my boss told me I might be relieved of my duties after Sallah.
The only thing on my mind was what my mother said: ‘Allah will repay you.’
I cried. I’ve never had ₦5 million at once in my life… talk less of ₦25 million.
After Sallah, I’m heading to Ka’abah for Umrah to show gratitude.”
I did the math…
₦80,000 turned into ₦25,000,000.
That’s over 300x.
Obey your parents.

@HAHayatu Nigeria has literally never announced a moon sighting before Saudi Arabia. It’s always Saudi first, then Nigeria copies right after. What’s really going on?
