There’s one thing real Aussies won’t have a bar of - people taking the piss. Here’s one for you! Labor MP Ali France participating in the NDIS while earning an MP salary of around $240k plus taxpayer-funded entitlements estimated at over $220k. Ali France, who lost her leg in a 2011 car accident, is confirmed as an NDIS participant, the first federal MP in that role, and has long advocated for the scheme based on her lived experience. NDIS access is determined by significant permanent disability needs rather than income or employment status, making her dual receipt factual and legal, though it has sparked debate amid broader NDIS reform and fraud concerns.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Is it even a disability if you have an aid that bypasses the disability, whilst people with actual life preventing disabilities can’t get on the scheme? According to the budget papers, "The Australian government's maximum liability and estimated payments under these (CIS) agreements are not for publication due to commercial sensitivities". It’s not hard to see why the major parties are struggling. Wasting taxpayers money and refusing to disclose it has to stop.
