hey everyone!
been a while.
6-months actually...
i took a one-way flight out of sf with no plan.
didn't know if i'd ever even come back.
ended up spending time in some of the most peaceful places on the entire planet.
from the villages of morocco to the remote forests of the czech republic to the peaceful outskirts of islamabad.
i listened to the beatles a lot
spent most days doing nothing
met some wise people on the road!
it was really, really cool.
but...you don't just get on a plane and have your problems disappear (would be nice)
when the company ended there was an overflow support from fans, friends, and investors:
"it was a good run. you gave it your best"
but of course, you are always your worst critic.
for the majority of my travels i just felt sad, tired, confused, everything at once.
i felt like a flop. like maybe i really did burn out. maybe this was really it. maybe the story ends here.
i think what freaked me most was the thought that i’d never feel that love building stuff ever again. as if this spark i'd had since i was 13 was just gone forever.
that was the worst.
but, i think time just did what time does.
as of today
i feel happier than ever.
and more excited than ever.
i feel like while on the road, i found that light again.
i feel like that kid within me, the kid that see's the world as brand new and just wants to make cool things...i feel like i found him again.
it was a journey. one day i’ll tell the whole story.
(and no, i did not take acid lol)
as of now i'm back in sf, i live 5m away from the office, and i'm just falling in love with making things again.
i really feel 13 again.
and, i feel like i'm ready to build something really fucking cool again. i’m not done yet.
thank you to everyone reading this who still cares. it means a lot.
and, thank you to the thousands of you who messaged me and tagged me over the last 6-mo checking in on me or just sending a note of appreciation.
even though i didn't have it in me to reply... it meant more than you'll ever know!
p.s: im actively hacking on new ideas everyday. if you're in sf and maybe wanna work together, hmu! we can meet up.

⚡️ Big news: our company @replexica has been selected for @ycombinator's F24 batch!
Excited to move to SF, build in AI and devtools, and work with amazing founders from around the world!

@FarzaTV @_buildspace I‘m so grateful to be a part of buildspace from the early web3 era to s4 irl. It was more than a school; it was a movement!
This movement helped me launch an app & gain my first 100 fans. Plus my son just hit 10k views on his yt channel.

I have some tough news.
Today, @_buildspace is closing.
I wanna be real about everything.
It’s not because of investor pressure, runway, internal drama, monetization, or any of those reasons.
The actual reason is a bit more personal.
I wrote a letter about it below.
I know this company means so much to so many people. I hope after reading the letter, you can understand.
Ty for the five best years of my life.
No matter what happens, ily.

in s5 i’m adding the venue bookings feature to @sportsvybe
here’s a sneak peek at the toy version 🙃

@Ridanoor011 @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends I went through the same struggle of finding a basketball court after moving. That's actually what inspired the idea 😅
I'm currently seeking help with UX/UI design. DM me! Do you have a portfolio?
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends as somebody who's moved twice in two years, finding a new basketball community every time I move is my biggest concern lol. love this. I have extensive experience in design, would love to help out with the UX/UI or landing page design

launching @sportsvybe after s4 was both thrilling and nerve-wracking.
now, i’m back for s5!
i'm thrilled to assist my son with his first idea, and i'm also focused on integrating a venue booking platform into sportsvybe. ⚽️🏀

@Abdessamad_k1 @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends What city is that and are there any specific sports that you are interested in?
English

@soumilrathi @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends Good observation! That was one of the first problems I learned out of s4. It's the classic chicken/egg.
My theory is booking the venue is the answer. Most places use WhatsApp or phone calls for bookings (crazy for 2024). So my focus is to help them and that'll bring users. 🤞
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends This sounds pretty cool! Any ideas on how you'll solve the critical mass problem for social apps? Maybe allowing users to import their contacts as friends?
English

@ambujj5o5 @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends You can! The mobile app is live in most locations.
However, if you want to be a customer on the venue side let's talk! 😀 my plan is to have my first venue before the end of s5

@cratocles @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends Would love to hear if there was anything you liked or disliked about your experience with Volo or HeyDey.
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends excited to see this! i’ve participated in stuff like volo and heyday athletics and those have been awesome social leagues. i’d recommend checking them out as a model that has worked in the past and improving on it!
English

@madlad_gangsta @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends I'm the same I play weekly soccer instead of going to the the gym! 😅
If you don't mind me asking. Where are you located?
I'm launching the venue platform soon and trying to find the best city/country to focus on implementing payments. 🙏
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends If you end up executing this then it will be brilliant as a lot of people would like sports over gym for fitness. If I can book an hour to play cricket with other people interested in playing that would be great.
English

@Ju1ianChavez @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends Thanks! This was actually why I came up with the idea in the first place. I had trouble finding locations or people to play ⚽ & 🏀
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends great idea! especially when i am traveling and want to find people to play soccer with
English

@aymanxkhan @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends Thanks for the feedback! I used Airbnb for sports because I wanted to make it easy to explain the concept. However, in the app, you can create a public game or group and find friends to play with! 🙌
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends Not sure if you want to go the Airbnb or the tinder for sports (to find friends to play with) but the idea is great!
English

@ishand @_buildspace @_nightsweekends @FarzaTV @stavan @theRealVikranth I'm always explaining this about ChatGPT and most AI! Old tech required exact words play.., open..
Now is more natural but still requires a good prompt to get the best out of AI.
I think guiding a user with a series of dynamic questions. The prompt can also be dynamic & visible
English

@avrahm @sportsvybe @_buildspace @_nightsweekends This is something that I actually tried but never came to an end when I was studying, but not with something like an airbnb but with something like a software, I'm sure this is a really great idea!
English

@mrmagan_ @_buildspace @_nightsweekends @michael_milst This is something I can see myself using as I build out the web app for my idea. Since hydra ai generates react components, does it support nextjs?
