Because it’s pointless. There’s no reasonable deal we can offer Trump that he’ll take. His grandstanding on VERY minor issues like dairy makes it very clear this isn’t about trade, and they don’t actually want a deal. He’s running a psyop to foment public outrage towards Canada, giving him social license to attempt to annex the country. In short, Trump wants to destroy Canada so he can annex it. Carney’s times better spent diversifying our trade, and finding every opportunity to poke Trump in the eye when he comes begging for resources he previously claimed he didn’t need: grain, aluminum, fertilizer, etc.
