@NJSimmondsbooks And there’s no wind. What are we supposed to do, stand outside it wafting a towel?? 😀

Non Brits: omg if you're hot just open the window or get an AC unit that goes out of your window. Average British window, which you can't alter if renting (only part that opens is the top half and it opens 3 inches...so also fuck you in a fire):

What’s a harmless British word that can mean something completely different depending on where you grew up?

@sweet_n_tweet @avfcvillan82 @Poppers_R_Us No, pretty much everywhere and I can’t think of a stronger example that California. Our ears are trained to what we know, I suppose. In England, you get the “war-er” pronunciation in the South East a lot, but I’d say most people say the full “war-ter”.

Two days of the sun being out and most Brits have lost their mind. If you’re in the Balaerics/Canaries or the like and it’s 30c then you’ll happily explore/hit the beach and enjoy it. Why is it that when it’s in the UK and it hits this temperature I see people contemplating heading to Dignitas. Enjoy the sun, it’s good for you!!! #heatwave #sun Don’t come to Sandbanks though, head to Bournemouth…

@anon_opin Anyone considered removing the massive roof canopy from petrol stations first in the future. If you insist on staying with petrol, enjoy the weather standing outside filling up. A gentle nudge in direction.

We're doing good work on getting people to drive, and enjoy, electric vehicles. Now is the time to set a date after which petrol won't be sold. A decade from now seems about right.

@anon_opin Have a think what that does to the second hand car market you moron. Millions of people sitting on a worthless asset with a loan still to repay. Negative equity anyone?! Also, if everyone switched to electric in that time frame, the grid couldn’t begin to cope.

I'm really into "fun with barcodes". Set the scale to Pick 'n' Mix (most expensive), print a label, and stick the barcode bit on the Daily Mail. Then, watch the rage when it scans at £28. Childish? Yes. Worth it? Also yes.

The police arrested me for reporting these injuries They broke my door down & seized my make up, pretending I had painted the injuries on my face, despite the fact I had a CT scan from the NHS who logged the injuries This is obscene

Palestine Action-like thugs just smashed up trucks in Bristol belonging to DSV Logistics. They relentlessly target this transport company to get them to stop working with Israeli Elbit Systems. Violent vandals who get away with this over and over. Grim.

@TheatreSpoonie @MagicPuddingDi I was also just in the Peak District. Ordered a panini at a cafe and got enough salad on the side to start my own veggie cafe. You have definitely not seen a representative slice of the UK. Plus we don’t drown ours in ranch, so it’s still healthy.

@MagicPuddingDi Wow you seem aggressive. I've spent the past weekend in the Peak District. It was near impossible to find salads even in cafes. But okay buddy. Also, interesting you bring up supermarkets when I was referring to how hard it is to find salads when eating out... 👍
