@wife2sirhusband My “some women” comment was about a man spending hours playing video games on his own. It wasn’t about quality time together. There’s obviously exceptions to every rule, but what I stated is a general rule.

I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@JoshPhillipsPhD My suggestion would also be to not discount short story anthologies. I’ve found a lot of short stories force the authors to pack a lot of great phrasing to accentuate the plot points.

Students ask me how they can improve their speaking abilities 1. Find lots of opportunities to speak (obviously) 2. But also read really good books with really great prose. We mimic the language we consume. So surround yourself with beautiful language

@KeenanPeachy It’s true. I recently was at a dinner where everyone looked at me in horror when I said that if there is a Black History Month… …then there should be a White History Month too for White People Or just no history month. You would have thought I said the N-word. Dead silent.

Liberalism is a mental disorder that causes only white people to look in the mirror and think “the world needs a lot less of me” No other race or group acts like this.

So there’s this super rich neighborhood in Seattle. Laurelhurst. They are situated next to a children’s hospital. They decided that the helicopter sound is too loud for them. The helicopters that life flight critically injured children to the hospital. So if a child needs to be taken by helicopter, the pilot has to land a mile away from the hospital. An ambulance will be there to take the child the remaining distance. This is to ensure that the super rich people don’t have to hear helicopters.

@akashmuni27 @wynrosei Also memorize all the local radio station numbers in hopes of winning tickets by being the 5th caller. Then physically dial the number.

Yes, people actually lined up. Sometimes days in advance. You'd camp outside a box office or record store with a sleeping bag and snacks. First come first served. The people at the back of the line just didn't get tickets. There were also phone hotlines where you'd call and stay on hold for hours hoping to get through before tickets sold out. For massive shows, scalpers would pay people to hold spots in line and resell tickets at huge markups. Same problem, different technology. The chaos was identical. Just more physical and more exhausting.

@SloanRachmuth This group is extremely helpful to docs on the scene even in hospitals they often mistreat. These guys provide free analysis of bloodwork etc to those with hands on or patients needing to advocate for themselves or their pets. Highly recommend.

So... word has gotten out that my sweet wife was bitten by a large copperhead last night. When it happened, we rushed her to the ER. The staff at our local hospital were absolutely amazing. They were responsive, kind, very helpful, and overall fantastic. Our biggest concern was the possibility of it not getting better and having to use the anti-venom, which carries its own risks, along with the potential for an extended stay. Fortunately, things stabilized, her vitals were steady, and they sent us home. We're not out of the woods yet, though. She is in a lot of pain, probably more than I’ve ever seen her in. We’re a busy family with a lot going on right now, but we truly cherish your prayers and are grateful for all the support, texts, calls, emails, and well wishes. We love y’all. Keep praying. God bless. - RB

@RobertBurns82 So sorry this happened to your wife. From the symptoms described it definitely sounds like anti-venom should have been used. Overall risks are extremely low compared to possibility of permanent pain/disability. @ToxSpencer - thoughts?
