I have NEVER understood why it is so hard for leftists to understand this.
In NYC, more people used the subway when they understood the chances of them being shot, stabbed or beaten up by a fucking transient were low; when they could be confident they weren't going to get accosted by piss-soaked bums, illegal migrants with their elementary school-aged kid strapped to their back shoving stale candy and gum in people's faces, and punk-ass "showtime" dancers who might kick you in the face if you don't tip them for their half-assed pole routines...ON THE SAME TRIP.

I want high-speed rail. I want public transit. But when you live in a country where a violent criminal is released 72 times, no one will ever be willing to take that transportation, so we will never invest in it. And that’s fair. Address antisocial behavior first, then build.

@SusanDReynolds there's plenty of spots in sf that have parking. building in parking in a dense area like nob hill requires underground parking garages which balloon costs. if a developer determines there's a market for units w/ no parking, it makes it more competitive in general!

Nothing major was cut or changed, except for a cumulative 8 minutes of sort of boring talk about Indiana & the demographics of the U.S. military. We also added a single fact check slide. They posted a newly edited version on their patreon and he says the biggest change is a fact check they added, but they cut like 15 minutes. A ton of stuff about Pete’s time in the military and South Bend is just not there anymore and the editing is v different.

@zack_overflow one of my favorite features. i love how it's designed under the hood with typestate, makes it soo easy to extend.
the only thing is the lack of HKTs makes vector types with invariants like atleast 1 element impossible to maintain (afaik).
