@ruffydfire You are lying. You didn't speak to any Gencos directly. If not, you will not be doubling down. Get your facts right instead of applying emotions to something that should be verifiable as a journalist you claim to be.

I asked a question and he evaded the question and abuse Rufai that’s what thy do! They never have answers I ask why do we have approvals in 2024, 2025 and 2026 Till date the Genco’s are suffering and he goes on a wild goose chase to explain what doesn’t make any sense! I am really shocked how the information managers of government don’t even have information and the repeat press releases! Accountability isn’t propaganda! Why will the president approve a 4 trillion Genco bond in 2025 and in 2026 he’s approving another Genco payment! It’s obvious they can’t answer! Let me humor them, you approved 4 trillion in bond payments in 2025 and this year you claim you have scaled it down again. These guys really think we are fools! TOLU, I speak to the Genco’s directly they are not party to any one sided audit by the government! By the way the debt is now over 6 trillion!
Tolu Ogunlesi@toluogunlesi

I can’t resist the urge to weigh in here, given my vow before God and man to always be there to save my dear brother @ruffydfire from his self-inflicted journalistic shortcomings. What I’m about to explain is publicly available material on Google: These are not different approvals. It’s merely different stages of the same process/program. The FGN has always made it very clear that the 4 Trillion Naira approval was not final. See this news, from July 2025: ‘The figure remains subject to downward revision, pending final validation. “While there is an anticipatory approval of this ₦4 trillion bond programme, it is subject to negotiations and final settlement of agreements. Only the amounts that the federal government validly owes are the things that will make it into the [bond] issuance…”’ Link here, via @vanguardngrnews: vanguardngr.com/2025/07/tinubu… What’s different now / what has changed since then is that, according to @NigeriaGov, those audits and negotiations have now been done and a final settlement of 3.3 trillion reached. And GenCos have started signing settlement agreements. And that’s not all, a first bond has been raised (see @ARISEtv reporting from January 2026), and payments have now finally started to Gencos and Gascos—which is what yesterday’s @NGRPresident statement was all about. Will never tire of telling my dear Rufai that social media energy shouldn’t just be for commenting/trolling, it should also be for research, otherwise one risks descending from journalism to jejune-alism. You have a right to disagree with any policy, and critique it, but this right shouldn’t be based on or fueled by ignorance or by an unwillingness to do basic research. PS. And you should take time to read AriseTV news from time to time. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

MR PRESIDENT.....WHERE IS THE MONEY SAVED FROM SUBSIDY...... In 2023 the Buhari govt projected N6trillion for petrol subsidy.... Nigerians were consuming about 67million litres of petrol daily between January to May in 2023... The cost of a litre of petrol in these period was N167 per litre.... The Buhari govt proposed N6trillion subsidy...it means the govt was paying about N250 for every litre of fuel every Nigerian consume @ N500billion Monthly and about N17billion for every 67million litres consume daily...... Invariably a litre of fuel under Buhari was about N417( adding what consumers pay plus what govt pay).... That was almost $1 per litre..... The Naira devaluation was inevitable.. so at almost $1 a litre of Petrol is supposed to be N1300 today... With govt paying about 60% of every litre of fuel a Nigerian, a Benonis, a Nigerian, Cameroonian and others were buying.... The Tinubu govt would have been paying about N780 for every litre In the 67million daily fuel consumption....that would have been N19trillion annually.... In 3 yrs the Tinubu govt saved Nigeria almost N60trillion.... So Mr President....Where is the N60trillion..... In 2023 Buhari budgeted N21trillion.... Buhari was expecting a N10trillion revenue.... Buhari was hoping to use over N8trillion to pay salary... Buhari was hoping to use over N6trillion to service the huge debt he was owing... So without borrowing...he can't pay salary, he can't service his debt... There is nothing like capital for project.... There is nothing like capital for subsidy..... All those asking Tinubu for the money he saved from subsidy...were too busy dancing on TikTok to ask how Buhari got money to pay for subsidy... Buhari Minister of finance was crying profusely that they were borrowing to pay subsidy...and even borrowing to pay debt... But those looking for where Tinubu saved subsidy monies where busy watching skits... It's D**mb to think Nigeria will save what it doesn't have.... Obasanjo borrowed to pay subsidy.... Jonathan borrowed to pay subsidy.... Buhari borrowed to pay subsidy.... Tinubu would have borrowed almost N60trillion to pay subsidy Nigeria public debt could have long crossed N220trillion.... And would have long been bankrupt and probably pack up completely.... It's outrageous to see some cl****wns asking id***tic question about subsidy saving.... They live but don't exist.... It is because of those asking these id***tic questions that made the Urhobos to say.... It is better to born a thief than to born a mumu....

Chairman of @inecnigeria, Joash Amupitan, knows what he is doing.  To drive that point home, he's chosen to shred the garb of a neutral umpire or the claim of respecting an order of the @NGCourtofAppeal existing entirely in his fertile imagination, threatening political Armageddon on the @ADCNig if they proceed with a party congress. As if to confirm who the whisperer is, presidential spokesperson, @aonanuga1956 advised the ADC to “please listen to the INEC chairman. He is a professor of law.” Beneath the ruse of law, a malevolent design lurks in plain sight. chatnewstv.com/amupitan-and-t…

ABUJA, FCT APRIL 2, 2026 PRESS STATEMENT APC TO ADC - YOU ARE THE AUTHOR OF YOUR FATE Quite apart from being an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has distinguished itself as a peddler of rabid conspiracy theories about what the All Progressives Congress (APC) is or is not doing to undermine the party. The ADC is a party that never was. By design, it was a kamikaze contraption with a “follow-come” self-destructive detonator. It had to unravel and now unraveling fast by installment. When it’s factional leadership under the duo of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola parachuted into the party like thoughtless and planless commandos, and hijacked the party in violent violation of its constitutional stipulations regarding leadership succession, and in disregard of the rule of law, the ADC set its own date with destiny. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC’s) decision to de-recognize the factional David Mark-led executives in compliance with judgment of court, is valid in law, justified in fact, and consistent with electoral policy and democratic practice. It is the consequence of the Party’s reckless and desperate misadventure. It is therefore highly escapist and irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for its internal woes of which they are the sole architects. The ADC’s unwillingness to take responsibility for its miserable failure to follow due process, order its internal affairs, and manage its self-inflicted crisis makes ADC grossly unfit as platform to be taken seriously by Nigerians. A party that cannot fix itself cannot possibly fix Nigeria. The ADC has absolutely nothing to offer more than its senseless attacks against the APC. Attacking the APC seems to be its cardinal commitment and manifesto. It is a party bereft of ideas and lost in vain desperation for power. Our great Party and the administration of President Bola Tinubu remain steadfast in delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda, and strengthening democratic institutions for peace, unity and prosperity of all Nigerians. Signed: Felix Morka, CON National Publicity Secretary All Progressives Congress (APC)
