This can be main public transport for smaller towns and work as feeder for metros in bigger cities. We cannot depend on cars.

Officials from the district administration and Airports Authority of India visited the 136-year-old Gouripur Jame Masjid, also known as Bankra Mosque, which was once situated in a vast barren land but now finds itself deep inside Kolkata Airport. Officials explained the need to shift the Mosque, citing safety, security concerns and flight operation constraints. The Mosque sits 165 m north of the secondary runway and around 150 m inside the boundary wall and has been a bone of contention for over three decades. Operating flights when the primary runway isn't available on foggy winter days is a challenge. While the remaining runway is adequate for a narrow-body aircraft like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737, it is not enough to operate wide-body aircraft like the B787 and A330. This was rejected by the Government of Karnataka for the Hubballi-Dharwad BRTS due to high costs. Around the same time, Maharashtra was also considering it for some of its cities, though I'm not sure what eventually came of those plans. ... and now its coming to Vizag.

OPINION Hawkers have taken over Kolkata’s footpaths not just due to weak enforcement, but also because people keep buying from them. People must support genuine, licensed businesses. Hawkers must be relocated to proper vending zones to reclaim the city’s streets.
