I’m becoming more and more convinced that Utah basketball (the Utes) will never recover. And, I think a lot of it is to blame on us fans. Personally, I haven’t been to a game in I don’t know how many years. Who wants to play in front of a thousand people? You get better crowds at high school games.

Something has been on my mind and I want to share it. I have noticed that among the loudest critics of the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ are those who specifically target Moroni's promise — the invitation in Moroni 10:3-5 to sincerely pray and ask God if the book is true. They don't just disagree with the book's content. They actively work to stop people from praying about it. And I find that extraordinary. Not because it surprises me spiritually — but because the Book of Mormon itself told us this would happen. 2 Nephi 32:8 identifies discouraging prayer as a work of the evil spirit. Nephi wrote that anciently. He described, with precision, something we see playing out today across social media, YouTube, podcasts, and ministries. 2 Nephi 28 paints a portrait of last-days opposition to truth that reads like a description of the current religious landscape — people teaching the precepts of men, denying the power of God, stirring others up to anger against those who seek truth. Moroni 10:28 has Moroni addressing, across the centuries, those who would deny his words. He knew they were coming. The irony is almost too perfect: A book that prophesied people would tell others not to pray about it... is being opposed by people telling others not to pray about it. If it were a fraud, why would it so accurately predict the nature of its own opposition? I believe in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I believe in the promise of Moroni 10:3-5. And I believe that the fulfillment of its prophecies happening in our day — including this one — is one of the quiet, powerful witnesses of its truth. If you've never read it, or if someone has told you not to pray about it, I'd gently invite you to reconsider. The promise is open to anyone willing to ask with a sincere heart.

@jkimballcook There are two questions that are separate questions for me: Was Joseph Smith a polygamist? Did Joseph Smith have sexual relationships with 14 year-old girls. The evidence is yes to question 1 and no to question 2.

I disagree strongly with those who argue Joseph Smith was not a polygamist. The historical evidence is too strong imo. But I don't think having wrong opinions is alone grounds for losing your membership in the church. (Also, we don't call it excommunication anymore.)

Joseph Smith was sealed- but never dated or consummated the 'sealing' with Helen Mar Kimball .. there now it makes sense. Stop telling lies to try to justify your bias. Not Bearing false witness is also a commandment- and leaving out parts of the story that erode your claims is the same thing as bearing false witness. Hopefully Jesus' love will lead you to repent of bearing false witness against another church and to do a better job of living a Christ-like life.

The church should excommunicate anyone who teaches at the polygamy conference that Joseph did not practice polygamy along with anyone who publicly teaches it online. Plural marriage is still a doctrine in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints even if it is an exception and not the rule in matters of marital practice. I make no apologies.

This one made people mad, and looking at it with fresh eyes this morning, I see why. My point here is not that grieving people don’t need Jesus - they clearly do. My point is that sending 19 year old boys who will do anything to “get a baptism” on a treasure hunt for people who are grieving is gross. Are we still mad, or does this help?
