The girl disagreed. She said that if finding a new tenant was the issue, she could have arranged one herself. She believed it wasn't her responsibility to bear the loss after moving out. The landlord also deducted money for items that were already damaged before she shifted into the flat. She had informed him about those issues when she moved in, and at that time he had told her not to worry. Now, those same old damages were being used to cut her deposit. When she continued asking for her money, the landlord blocked her on WhatsApp. Left with no other option, the girl decided to send a legal notice. If she doesn't receive a reply within 15 days, she plans to take the matter to court. This incident is a reminder that while renting a house, your security deposit can be just as important as your monthly rent. Always take photos and videos before moving in, keep records of existing damages, and make sure all deposit terms are clearly mentioned in the rental agreement. If ₹52,000 out of your ₹70,000 security deposit was deducted without a valid reason, what would you do?

@tamilkedayam @CountryGulshan Exactly, I only chose to get it a month in advance. She didn’t pay the electricity bill, gas bill, and left the kitchen trolley damaged. She missed 2 maintenance payments. I had to shell out close to 20k 🙄. You will be exploited if you try to be fair 🙄😬.
