Lotta people seem to think the US blockade is a strategic masterstroke sure to end the war. Which begs the question: why wait 6 weeks to impose one?

@WilliamWolfe @Phase2Deport No they didn't. That number is false. The 13,000 number is homicides UP TO 2024. It's 40+ years of data, not one year.

1996’s “The Rock” is another fine example of what Feminist Hollywood won’t give us anymore. The plot: Ed Harris and a rogue Marine unit seize Alcatraz and threaten to wipe out San Francisco with deadly VX nerve gas. The government recruits FBI chemical weapons expert Nicholas Cage and the only man who ever escaped Alcatraz — Sean Connery — to sneak in and stop the attack. Directed by Michael Bay, with a MANLY stacked cast: Michael Biehn William Forsythe John Spencer David Patrick Kelly Xander Berkeley Tony Todd Doug Hutchison Robert Wisdom Paul Calderon Tom Sizemore No girlbosses, no lectures. Just elite soldiers, ex-cons, and hard men doing an impossible mission under extreme pressure. Production budget: $75,000,000. Worldwide gross: $335,062,621. 7th highest–grossing film domestically that year. Hollywood used to crank out 3-4 movies like this per year. Now they WON'T. Why do you suppose that is?

@davepl1968 I grew up in central Florida and was in the 4th grade. We walked outside and watched it launch with our own two eyes! A totally indelible memory. I agree that not many did watch it live - I'm definitely in the minority.

99.9% of people who "experienced" the Challenger disaster saw it on replay and now remember it as live. Almost NO ONE was watching. Everyone thinks they were. It's a fascinating collective false memory.
Jeremy London@SirJeremyLondon

Anyone who experienced the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion, like I did, is probably a bit hesitant to get too excited about the Artemis II launch today. I truly hope our children don’t have to experience such tragedy. May the Universe welcome them and return them safely home 🙏

@ClayTravis "Foreign language" implies that we have a national language, which we don't. The NFL is doing everything they can to spread out internationally and this is a great way to appeal to a huge new audience. Seems kind of obvious to me.

Would any other country in the world have their signature cultural event in a foreign language? I legit have no idea what just happened.

@albertmohler @WNGdotorg Dr. Mohler, you spend more time talking about Norway and England than our President. Why do you feel uncomfortable bringing up President Trump's associations with Epstein? What about the hundreds of other ways he's acted undignified?

@FrankConniff As a Xennial, I'm grateful for those early days of Comedy Central. My comedic education was packed with so much great comedy, especially Kids in the Hall and SCTV (and some other show about robots in space). SCTV has always been more formative for me than SNL ever was.

For decades, Catherine O'Hara did so many great things but SCTV is my foundation. It is my comedy lodestar. It sent me on my path in life. If you've ever laughed at anything I've ever been a part of, Catherine and her cohorts are in the DNA of that laugh.
