
Kalyansinghpur Mob Violence Case Classified as ‘Red Flag’; CAW Team to Investigate Under ADG S. Shyni
The state police administration has taken the sensational mob violence (mob lynching) incident that occurred in the Kalyansinghpur area of Rayagada district with utmost seriousness. On the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania, the sensitive case has been categorized under the “Red Flag” category. To ensure a fair and comprehensive investigation, senior IPS officer S. Shyni , who serves as the Additional Director General of Police (ADG) of the Women and Child Protection Wing (CAW & CW), has been assigned special responsibility for the probe.
According to the DGP’s directions, a high-level CAW team led directly by ADG S. Shyni will soon visit Rayagada to conduct an on-the-spot investigation. The team will thoroughly examine every aspect of the incident. Sources indicate that, if necessary, the special police team may also travel to Delhi to further advance the investigation.
Meanwhile, police have already recorded the statements of both the young man and woman who were brutally attacked in the mob violence incident. Demonstrating prompt action, Rayagada Police have so far arrested a total of 20 accused persons in connection with the case. The number of arrests is expected to increase as the investigation progresses.
Upon learning of the incident, Rayagada Police acted swiftly, a response that has been highly appreciated by DGP Y.B. Khurania. Since the case has now been brought under the “Red Flag” category, it will be closely monitored under the supervision of ADG S. Shyni . Police Headquarters sources stated that efforts will be made to ensure a speedy investigation and trial, strict punishment for those found guilty, and appropriate justice for the victims.
